With tireless, meaningful efforts, personnel of the Na Cô Sa Border Post have been actively strengthening national solidarity and helping to build a robust, people-based border defense system along this frontier of the Fatherland.
In Na Cô Sa 1 village, Quảng Lâm commune, the image of green-uniformed border guards has become familiar to locals. More than just protectors of the border, they are also seen as “teachers” and “doctors” in the village. The post’s Party Committee and leadership view community outreach as a core mission, a vital bridge connecting the Party’s vision with the people’s hearts.
Since the beginning of the year, the Na Cô Sa Border Post has organized over 40 legal education sessions, attracting more than 2,658 participants. The outreach focuses on Party guidelines, state policies, the Law on Vietnam Border Guard, the National Border Law, anti-illegal immigration efforts, drug crime prevention, and raising awareness about child marriage and consanguineous marriage. From village meetings to small-group sessions, each officer becomes a dedicated communicator, delivering legal knowledge right to each household in this remote region.

These officers work side-by-side with locals in their daily lives: tilling the soil, planting corn, building livestock shelters, encouraging children to attend school, and helping form self-managed border protection groups. These down-to-earth activities have helped nurture a deep bond between soldiers and civilians.
Major Đỗ Xuân Điềm, Deputy Political Officer of the Na Cô Sa Border Post, affirmed: “Every officer and soldier keeps in mind that “the post is our home, the border is our homeland, and the ethnic communities are our family”. In times of hardship, we must stay close to the people to build trust and reinforce national unity. When soldiers become a true pillar of support and reliable companions to local residents, even the smallest actions help instill faith in the Party and hope for a brighter future.”
A shining example of the border post’s community engagement is the program “Supporting students to school - Adopted children of the border post”. Currently, the unit sponsors five ethnic Mông students facing extreme difficulties. These children live in a disciplined, nurturing environment at the border post, where officers personally guide their learning and development. This model fosters well-rounded growth and inspires confidence and ambition among the next generation in this mountainous border region.
Healthcare and livelihood support for residents also remain a top priority. In the first half of this year, the post partnered with local agencies to provide free medical checkups and medicine to over 400 residents, valued at nearly VND 100 million. More than 150 gift packages, worth over VND 60 million, were also distributed. Officers helped villagers overcome the impacts of natural disasters and epidemics, repaired homes, improved sanitation, maintained roads, and dredged irrigation canals. These efforts have spread a spirit of compassion and social responsibility, reinforcing the strong bond between the military and the people.
The Na Cô Sa Border Post also plays an active role in advising local Party committees and authorities on strengthening grassroots political systems. In the past six months, it has helped train and recommend five new Party members in border villages. Party members from the post are also assigned to participate in local Party branch activities, contributing to improving political operations and enhancing Party leadership in ethnic minority areas.
It’s no surprise that residents of Quảng Lâm commune affectionately refer to officers of the Na Cô Sa Border Post as “family.” This trust wasn’t built on promises, it was earned through years of walking in the rain and sun, through sincere, quiet, and selfless acts.
These are the timeless, inspiring images of “Uncle Hồ’s soldiers” in today’s era, border guards in green uniforms, quietly sowing seeds of compassion and hope in the highlands. They come with heart, stay with duty, and leave a lasting mark in the hearts of the people.
