ĐBP - On October 23, the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee inspected the implementation progress of the Nậm Rốm River Basin Multi-Disaster Management Project, which aims to protect people’s livelihoods, adapt to climate change, and promote the socio-economic development of Điện Biên province.

ĐBP - The year of 2026 is the first year of implementing the selection and calling of citizens for enlistment under the two-level local government model. With tasks from the district level being transferred to the commune level and partly to the provincial level, the selection and calling of citizens for enlistment will therefore have many new aspects.

ĐBP - Following directives from the Ministry of Public Security to strengthen alcohol checks and enforce laws on the prevention of alcohol-related harm, traffic safety, and the Government’s Decree 168, as well as to reduce traffic accidents linked to alcohol, the Điện Biên provincial Police launched a province-wide alcohol control campaign on October 18, 2025.

ĐBP - In recent times, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels in Điện Biên province have actively communicated and mobilized, improved the quality and effectiveness of social supervision and criticism, and implemented democracy. Comrade Trần Tiến Dũng, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term, was elected to the position of Secretary of the provincial Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term.

ĐBP - As a mountainous, border province and the “poor core” of the country, Điện Biên currently has over 17.6% poor households. This makes the province a key area where hostile and reactionary forces often exploit ethnic and religious issues, cyberspace, or difficult living conditions to entice and incite people to violate the law. In addition, crimes related to drugs, human trafficking, high-tech fraud, and illegal immigration are developing in a complex manner, putting great pressure on the work of ensuring security and social order in the area.
