The “steel rose” in Điện Biên police force

ĐBP - In the midst of strong footsteps on the training ground, a small yet powerful figure stands out, radiating strength and decisiveness. That figure is Captain Nguyễn Thị Quỳnh, an officer in the Training and Advisory Team, Deputy Chairperson of the Women’s Union of the Mobile Police Division, and a typical example of a female police officer in the new era: resilient, strong-willed, compassionate, and always burning with the desire to contribute.

To become a brave mobile police officer, not afraid of hardship or difficulty, and to complete all assigned tasks successfully, each officer must undergo an extremely rigorous training process. These demanding exercises are tough, both physically and technically, and require a strong spirit. However, for Captain Nguyễn Thị Quỳnh, difficulty is not a barrier; rather, it is the material for forging her resilience and nurturing her spirit of readiness and contribution.

In 2017, after two years of study at the Central Police School, Nguyễn Thị Quỳnh was assigned to the Mobile Police Division of the Điện Biên provincial Police. Without the physical advantages of male colleagues and working in a specialized unit that requires high-intensity training, she knew she would have to try harder than others. However, in her heart, this female officer always burned with the desire to protect the peace for her homeland.

To become a mobile police officer, Captain Quỳnh had to undergo a rigorous training.

“At first, like many other female colleagues, I thought that simply trying my best would help me overcome all difficulties. But the harsh reality showed me that effort alone was not enough. It requires resilience, willpower, and determination to rise above myself every day,” Captain Nguyễn Thị Quỳnh shared.

Not setting limits for herself, Captain Quỳnh actively learned and trained relentlessly. For her, each training session is an opportunity for growth. Even in her role as an advisor and trainer, she boldly collaborated with unit leaders to build appropriate, realistic training plans, contributing to ensuring the absolute safety of major events in the area.

Although the job requires toughness and decisiveness, in her daily life, Captain Nguyễn Thị Quỳnh maintains a gentle, refined demeanor - qualities that reflect the characteristics of a Vietnamese woman. From how she cares for her team during meals after training to her meticulous organization of activities, meetings, and events, she embodies the image of a woman who is strong yet still deeply feminine.

The exercises of Captain Quỳnh and her colleagues demand high-intensity training.

Perhaps it is the harmonious combination of toughness and gentleness, rationality and emotion, that has earned her the trust of her leaders, colleagues, and union members, and led to her being appointed Deputy Chairperson of the Mobile Police Women’s Union.

In her role as a union officer, Captain Quỳnh has clearly demonstrated her leadership in organizing movements and activities for the community. She has been at the forefront of various programs such as “Female police officers learn and follow Hồ Chí Minh’s ideology, ethics, and style,” “Female police officers be proactive, responsible, disciplined, creative for national security,” and “Building brave, humane, integrating and developing female police officers in Điện Biên.” Quỳnh has always been an active and pioneering force.

In each of her activities, Quỳnh skillfully integrates political and legal education, helping raise awareness and inspire a sense of contribution among union members.

Regardless of duties, Captain Quỳnh always completes her tasks excellently.

Lieutenant Colonel Lò Thùy Anh, Head of the Women’s Union of the provincial Police, commented: “Quỳnh is a passionate young officer, always creative in her work and actively participating in union activities. She radiates a positive energy that makes her colleagues feel reassured and close.”

Quỳnh’s enthusiasm and responsibility are not only shown on the training grounds or in specific work plans but also in the simple things. Within the unit, she and the union members take care of logistics, preparing nutritious meals for officers during training with the motto: Clean - Delicious - Nutritious. She has also proactively proposed many initiatives to improve internal activities, contributing to building a strong and comprehensive unit.

Not stopping at her contributions within the unit, Quỳnh has also initiated a small project called “Wings of Hope.” This program, a passion project of hers and the Mobile Police Women’s Union, aims to support disadvantaged children by helping them develop both physically and mentally.

“We want to create a beneficial training environment where children can participate in simple martial arts exercises to improve their health and self-confidence. Additionally, we will organize English lessons to help them expand their knowledge and life skills so that they can gradually integrate into the world outside,” shared Quỳnh.

Captain Quỳnh’s enthusiasm and responsibility are not only shown on the training ground but also in the simple things.

The contributions of Captain Nguyễn Thị Quỳnh have been recognized with various awards. But more than anything, what makes her happiest and most proud is being able to live and work in the uniform of people’s Police, contributing to the mission of protecting the peace of the homeland, and witnessing the growth of her colleagues and the children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

In the eyes of her colleagues, Quỳnh is not only a strong, responsible mobile police officer but also a woman full of love. Every step she takes, every action she does, affirms the role and position of women in the armed forces, especially in fields traditionally seen as “male-dominated” like the mobile police force.

“With her spirit of dedication, her desire to contribute, and her passionate heart, Captain Nguyễn Thị Quỳnh is writing a beautiful story about the female police officer of the new era: Resilient, humane, integrated, and developed,” emphasized Lieutenant Colonel Lò Thùy Anh.
