In Thanh Nưa commune, preparations are being carried out in a coordinated and systematic manner. Recently, the commune-level Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) convened a conference to guide agencies and units on nominating candidates for the second-term Thanh Nưa commune People’s Council for 2026-2031. The meeting aimed to align understanding and approaches while translating election laws into concrete actions, ensuring that the nomination process is conducted lawfully, democratically, and objectively.
At the conference, the VFF Committee thoroughly disseminated regulations on eligibility standards, structure, composition, and the number of candidates to be nominated for the second-term commune People’s Council. Participants were also given detailed guidance on procedures, documentation, timelines for each step of the consultation process, as well as how to organize leadership meetings, voter meetings at workplaces, and prepare meeting minutes in line with regulations. Providing clear instructions from the outset helps agencies, units, and villages act proactively and avoid confusion or errors during implementation.
According to Nguyễn Thái Bình, Secretary of the Thanh Nưa commune Party Committee and Chairman of the commune People’s Council, immediately after the conference, agencies, units, and villages allocated candidate quotas began seriously reviewing the guidance and fully implementing the prescribed nomination procedures for the 2026-2031 term. The process places particular emphasis on ensuring democracy, objectivity, and legal compliance. Nominees must be truly representative, meet required structures and composition, and possess both integrity and capability to represent the will and aspirations of voters and the public.
Alongside the consultation and nomination process, the Thanh Nưa commune Election Committee has issued a plan to organize the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term. Based on this plan, the commune is focusing on establishing election-related bodies; reviewing, compiling, and publicly posting accurate voter lists; and preparing polling stations to ensure safety, order, and convenience. Public information and outreach on the purpose and significance of the election, as well as voters’ rights and responsibilities, are being intensified in tandem with efforts to maintain security, public order, and social safety.
Meanwhile, Nà Tấu commune is actively preparing for step two of the consultation process to nominate candidates for the commune-level People’s Council. The Standing Board of the commune VFF has issued notices and detailed guidance to agencies, organizations, units, and villages on organizing candidate nominations. Mùa A Vừ, Chairman of the Nà Tấu commune VFF Committee, said the locality plans to conduct training sessions for agencies, units, and villages on nomination procedures to ensure consistency and professionalism. The VFF Committee is also rolling out mobile communication campaigns across all 35 villages, stepping up outreach on social media, and integrating election-related content into village meetings and Party cell activities to help residents fully understand the significance of the election and participate proactively and responsibly.
Earlier, on December 4, the Nà Tấu commune VFF Committee held its first consultation conference to reach agreement on the structure, composition, and number of candidates for the second-term commune People’s Council for 2026-2031. Under the agreed plan, 21 deputies will be elected in accordance with regulations, with balanced representation across agencies, units, and villages. The proposed structure ensures diversity and representativeness, including 14 male and 7 female candidates; 12 ethnic minority candidates; 18 Party members and 3 non-Party members; 9 candidates under the age of 40; 7 from rural areas; and 14 from agencies, units, and the armed forces. A total of 39 candidates have been nominated, providing voters with ample choice and careful consideration when casting their ballots.
From grassroots practice, it is clear that consultation, candidate nomination, and preparations for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term are being carried out seriously, in strict compliance with regulations, and on schedule. Proactive and meticulous preparation from the early stages is a crucial prerequisite for a safe, democratic, and lawful election - one that truly becomes a nationwide civic celebration and meets the trust and expectations of voters and the public.
