The event focused on Candidate Group No.1 for the 16th National Assembly, led by Trần Tiến Dũng, Member of the Party Central Committee and provincial Party Secretary.

High-ranking provincial officials attended the conference, including Lò Văn Cương, Member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, along with representatives from various provincial departments and a large gathering of voters from Điện Biên Phủ ward.

The five members of Candidate Group No.1 include Trần Tiến Dũng; Lò Thị Luyến, Provincial Party Member and Deputy Head of the 15th National Assembly Delegation of Điện Biên; Nguyễn Tiến Thiện (also known as Venerable Thích Đức Thiện), who holds numerous high-ranking positions within the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and international friendship associations; Lò Thị Dậu, a specialist at the Tủa Chùa commune Fatherland Front; and Lường Thị Nguyên, a member of the Inspection Committee of the Tuần Giáo commune Party Committee. During the meeting, the Standing Board of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee provided voters with biographical summaries of these five candidates, who then proceeded to present their action plans for the upcoming term.

Following the presentation of these action plans, voters from Điện Biên Phủ ward expressed several key aspirations and recommendations. They specifically urged the prompt implementation of urban projects that have been planned but are currently delayed, aiming to unlock land resources and create momentum for urban development, services, and tourism. Furthermore, voters emphasized the need for synchronized transport infrastructure investment within residential blocks, particularly in central areas, to develop Điện Biên Phủ into a green, smart, and sustainable modern city. Another major concern involved the request for functional agencies to review and handle potential traffic safety risks at intersections where residential roads meet national highways to ensure the safety of the local population.

Representing the candidate group, Trần Tiến Dũng directly addressed and clarified the voters’ suggestions. He emphasized that their feedback was highly pertinent and aligned with Central directives aimed at maximizing and effectively using resources while avoiding waste to drive sustainable socio-economic growth.

He further informed the constituents that provincial authorities are currently conducting a comprehensive review of local potential to build better investment promotion and tourism strategies. Regarding the specific local issues raised, the provincial Party Secretary assured that the provincial Party Committee and People’s Committee would direct relevant agencies and Điện Biên Phủ ward to expedite procedures and implement solutions that meet the legitimate aspirations of the voters.
