Provincial Party Secretary Trần Tiến Dũng attends 2026 training season launch ceremony at Regiment 82

ĐBP - On the morning of March 2, Regiment 82 of Division 355, Military Region 2, organized a ceremony to kick off the 2026 training season and launch a peak emulation movement to welcome the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, as well as the 136th anniversary of President Hồ Chí Minh’s birthday.

The ceremony was attended and directed by Senior Lieutenant General Lê Đức Thái, Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Central Military Commission, and Deputy Minister of National Defense; Major General Trần Văn Bắc, Member of the Party Central Committee and Commander of Military Region 2.

Representing Điện Biên province were Trần Tiến Dũng, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Lò Văn Cương, Member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; and Major General Vũ Văn Đấu, Member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and Director of the provincial Police. Leaders from various departments of the Ministry of National Defense and provincial sectors also joined the officers and soldiers of Regiment 82 for the event.

In executing the 2026 training tasks, Regiment 82 is committed to continued innovation and breakthroughs in training missions according to Resolution No.1659 of the Central Military Commission and Resolution No.05 of the Military Region Party Committee regarding the improvement of training quality for the 2023-2030 period. The unit will focus on leadership and direction under the motto “Basic - Practical - Solid,” while strictly adhering to the established principles and combinations in training. The training year is scheduled to span nine months across two phases, with the first phase running from March 2 to July 15 and the second from August 1 to December 15.

During his keynote address, Senior Lieutenant General Lê Đức Thái recognized and praised the achievements of the officers and soldiers of Regiment 82 throughout 2025. To ensure the successful completion of 2026 missions, the Deputy Minister of National Defense urged the regiment to maintain a deep understanding of the Party’s military and defense guidelines and the resolutions of the 12th Congress of the Military Party Organization.

He emphasized that personnel must strictly implement the “2 steadfast principles, 2 intensified efforts, and 2 preventive measures” and the “5 solids” motto as directed by Party General Secretary Tô Lâm. Furthermore, he called for enhanced political and ideological education to improve awareness and responsibility, while maintaining strict combat readiness to ensure the unit is never caught off guard.

As a highlight of the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Lê Đức Thái presented the “Excellent Training Unit” flag to Regiment 82 to honor their outstanding achievements in training and comprehensive unit development.

To conclude the ceremony, the regiment conducted a military parade, martial arts demonstrations, and collective military dances, alongside an exhibition of training models and innovative tools designed for the 2026 training season.
