Accelerating production to ignite growth momentum

ĐBP - Immediately following the 2026 Bính Ngọ Lunar New Year holiday, the atmosphere of production across Điện Biên province swiftly surged back to life.

From the emerald rice fields to humming factories and sprawling construction sites, a collective wave of determination took hold among officials, workers, and farmers alike. Localities and businesses have proactively stabilized their workforces, ensuring that productivity hits the ground running from the year’s earliest days to foster a competitive spirit aimed at achieving the province’s socio-economic development goals.

For the 2025-2026 winter-spring season, the province cultivated over 9,250 hectares of rice, and farmers are now out in the fields meticulously monitoring their crops for pests. Agricultural cooperatives are working closely with technical experts to guide farmers, ensuring the rice tillers effectively and grows uniformly.

In Mường Thanh ward, a local farmer named Lò Văn Xuân shared that his family is currently tending nearly 1,000 square meters of Bắc Thơm No.7 rice. With the plants in their tillering stage, he is taking advantage of the favorable weather to apply the first round of fertilizer and clear weeds, maintaining precise water levels to ensure the crop stays healthy and disease-free.

Beyond the rice paddies, specialized production zones are equally active, with farmers tending to nearly 1,000 hectares of pineapple, 4,000 hectares of fruit trees such as oranges and longans, and vast stretches of coffee and macadamia totaling over 20,000 hectares combined. Pruning and soil enrichment are in full swing to prepare for the new production cycle. Simultaneously, the province has placed a heavy emphasis on livestock protection, implementing synchronized efforts in vaccination and barn disinfection to safeguard the regional herds.

The industrial sector has kept pace as the Điện Biên Cement Joint Stock Company officially launched its 2026 production campaign on the sixth day of the first lunar month. Workers were present in full force to inspect machinery and ensure safety protocols before the lines roared back to life. The company leadership has set a bold target to produce and sell 400,000 tons of cement this year, focusing on cost reduction and market expansion. Demonstrating their resolve, the company managed to ship 600 tons on the very first day of operations.

Construction sites have also seen a flurry of activity as contractors mobilized personnel and machinery for key infrastructure projects. At the Thanh Yên Inter-level Boarding School project, the air is filled with the rhythmic sound of concrete mixers and excavators. Contractors have deployed multiple teams to accelerate progress, aiming to complete the school before August 30, 2026, just in time for the new academic year. With roughly 120 workers on-site daily, the focus remains squarely on technical precision and safety.

In the commercial sector, the rhythm of business returned swiftly as supermarkets and traditional markets reopened their doors to meet consumer needs. Market management forces have stepped up inspections to prevent fraud, while transport services resumed high-frequency operations to keep goods flowing. This early-year surge is more than just a restart; it is a message of confidence. From the lush fields to the rhythmic production lines, the collective effort reflects a shared commitment to building a fast, smart, and sustainable Điện Biên.
