Clicks and shares help spread election day information

ĐBP - In recent years, many organizations, mass groups and local authorities across the province have effectively leveraged social media platforms to share information, gather public feedback and disseminate policies to residents.

Building on these advantages, as the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term approaches, localities and agencies have proactively and creatively stepped up election-related communication on social media, delivering encouraging initial results.

As soon as the local voter list was posted, Nguyễn Anh Sơn, Secretary of the Hồ Chí Minh Communist Youth Union of Thanh Nưa commune, actively recorded images and shared them on the Youth Union’s social media page. The clear and visual posts help young voters easily identify where they will exercise their civic rights.

Sơn said that alongside updates on local election preparations, the commune Youth Union has actively used social media to highlight the role, significance and importance of the election to union members and young people - a large and dynamic group of voters. Through articles, photos and short videos, election messages are conveyed in a vivid and accessible way that matches the information consumption habits of young audiences. As a result, many young voters have gained a clear understanding of their rights and responsibilities and have become active advocates, encouraging friends, family members and residents in their neighborhoods to participate in the election in accordance with regulations.

Thanh Nưa commune is not alone. Many localities have made full use of social media’s strengths to spread information about election day. Updates on voting times and locations, election rules and procedures, and lists of candidates are posted promptly on official local websites and the pages of the Fatherland Front and mass organizations. This allows voters to access information anytime and anywhere, reducing the risk of missing or misunderstanding important election regulations.

Ethnic residents in Cổng Trời village, Na Sang commune learn about election information via smartphones.

Ahead of the election, the Hồ Chí Minh Communist Youth Union of Chiềng Sinh commune has launched a range of creative communication activities, combining both online and in-person outreach. In addition to sharing updates on social media, youth union members have joined hands with the commune Women’s Union to organize mobile awareness campaigns, traveling to villages and residential areas. Vehicles equipped with loudspeakers move along main roads broadcasting information about citizens’ rights and responsibilities, voting schedules and locations, and calls for residents to actively take part in the election.

The combination of visual outreach and digital communication has created a powerful ripple effect. Information delivered directly in communities is later shared on social media, drawing wide attention and interaction from the public. Many voters’ questions and feedback are addressed promptly online, helping enhance transparency and strengthen public consensus.

Đỗ Văn Sơn, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Chiềng Sinh commune, said that the commune Party committee and local authorities have directed organizations and mass groups to intensify communication through information channels and social media platforms such as Facebook and Zalo. The goal is to ensure residents can quickly access complete and accurate information, particularly regarding the election timeline, regulations and preparations. Public engagement on social media has been highly positive, reflecting strong interest and a sense of responsibility toward this important political event.

Across the province, there are 277 constituencies and 926 polling stations. The vast area and difficult travel conditions in some locations pose challenges for direct outreach to residents. As a result, election information is also delivered through short articles, photos and videos on social media, allowing people to follow, share and discuss the content at their convenience. This has helped raise voters’ awareness of their rights and civic responsibilities. Many residents have proactively checked their personal details on voter lists, learned about voting procedures and arranged their schedules to participate fully.

In reality, social media has become an important information channel that improves governance efficiency and strengthens two-way communication between authorities and citizens. As the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term draws near, localities continue to promote communication through diverse and creative approaches tailored to different groups. Particular emphasis is being placed on the use of information technology and social media to support election day activities, helping spread information widely so that residents understand and fulfill their civic responsibilities for the development of their localities and the country.
