Taking care of Tết for employees

ĐBP - Every spring, caring for Tết for union members and workers in difficult circumstances is of interest to provincial Trade Union levels. With the motto “All union members and workers have Tết, enjoy Tết,” many practical and meaningful activities are deployed by Trade Union levels to support union members in having a warm and full Tết.

To timely deploy activities to care for and support union members and workers, especially those in difficult circumstances, affected by natural disasters, suffering from critical illnesses, or having lost their jobs, the provincial Confederation of Labor has built a plan to organize activities to care for union members and workers during the Lunar New Year of the Horse - Bính Ngọ 2026.

With the theme “Reunion Tết - Spring of Gratitude to the Party,” from now until before the Lunar New Year Bính Ngọ 2026, the provincial Confederation of Labor will organize many practical activities to care for Tết for union members and workers such as: The online “Trade Union Tết Market - Spring 2026” program, expected from Dec 20, 2025, to Feb 3, 2026. Accordingly, the provincial Confederation of Labor has allocated 1,000 gift sets for union members and 40 gift sets for trade union officials with excellent achievements in labor, production, and active participation in activities organized by the union. The support level is VND 500,000/person through electronic shopping vouchers (e-vouchers) for union members to buy goods and consumer products on the official website or smart device application of the program. This form of support will help union members proactively choose items and products suitable for the needs of themselves and their families.

Especially, the provincial Confederation of Labor organizes delegations to visit, give gifts, and encourage workers and laborers at units and enterprises; units operating in areas far from the center, deep-lying and remote areas; union members and workers facing difficulties, having low income, or affected by natural disasters; and visiting and giving gifts to workers directly performing duties during Tết. The maximum care level of VND 1,000,000/set will partly help disadvantaged union members have more funds to celebrate Tết. Also on this occasion, the provincial Confederation of Labor will organize the “Reunion Tết” Program and “Trade Union Year-End Meal” to meet, share, and encourage workers at grassroots-level trade unions before the new year. The provincial Confederation of Labor will support 100 bus tickets for union members and workers in difficulty or those who have not returned home for Tết for many years to go home and return to work.

At commune and ward trade unions and affiliated grassroots-level trade unions, based on the actual situation, they coordinate with employers to organize the “Reunion Tết” Program appropriately; mobilize resources from enterprises and local authorities to visit and give gifts to workers, support bus tickets for union members to return home for Tết; and organize the “Trade Union Year-End Meal.” At units and enterprises with many union members and workers who do not have conditions to return home for Tết, the grassroots-level trade union will organize the “Tết Not Far From Home” Program or other suitable forms of activity. Trade Union levels also regularly grasp the thoughts and aspirations of union members and workers before, during, and after Tết; strengthening dialogue and negotiation with employers regarding production plans, salary payment, Tết bonuses, and caring for the material and spiritual life of union members during Tết...

Lò Thị Xuân, a member of the Grassroots-level Trade Union of Tủa Chùa Health Center, has a very difficult family situation; her husband is unemployed, her parents are old and weak and unable to work, and she has 2 small children attending school. All family expenses rely on her monthly salary. Sharing with Xuân’s family situation, the Tuần Giáo commune Trade Union included her in the list of union members participating in the online “Trade Union Tết Market - Spring 2026” Program to receive electronic shopping vouchers.

Sharing the joy of being cared for and supported during Tết, Điêu Thị Hà, a member of the Grassroots-level Trade Union of Hồng Kỳ International Coffee Joint Stock Company, shared: “My husband’s and my income is not enough to cover family expenses, while my health is weak, my small children are going to school, and my elderly parents are frequently sick. Receiving the attention of the trade union organization, besides participating in the online ‘Trade Union Tết Market - Spring 2026’ Program, I was also selected to be proposed for a gift from the provincial Confederation of Labor during the upcoming Tết. These support activities help my family have more conditions to welcome a more complete and meaningful Tết.”

Tẩn Minh Long, Vice Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the provincial Confederation of Labor, emphasized: Tết care activities will be organized by Trade Union levels safely, economically, effectively, complying with regulations, and suitable to the actual needs of union members and workers at enterprises, units, and localities. Thereby, creating a joyful and excited atmosphere among union members, while demonstrating the mark and role of the trade union organization in caring for the material and spiritual life of union members and workers, helping them have conditions to enjoy spring and welcome Tết in reunion and meaning.
