March’s youthful spirit

ĐBP - Under the theme “Điện Biên Youths proudly and confidently follow the Party,” the 2025 Youth Month campaign is a significant political event that encourages young people to turn their focus toward the nation’s border regions.

This initiative not only fosters awareness and action among youth in protecting national sovereignty and security but also mobilizes resources to support border guards and communities in remote areas.

As March arrives, the vibrant blue of volunteer shirts fills the streets, from cities to rural villages and remote border areas. With enthusiasm and a strong desire to contribute, thousands of young members of the Hồ Chí Minh Communist Youth Union have carried out meaningful projects and initiatives. These efforts, recognized and highly valued by local authorities and communities, highlight the impactful role of youths in society.

Nậm Pồ, a border district in Điện Biên province, was chosen to launch the 2025 Youth Month. Despite the early morning chill of the frontier, the atmosphere was filled with excitement and determination as local young people united in service to the nation. In collaboration with the Vietnam Youth Federation, the Điện Biên provincial Youth Union launched the 2025 Youth Month alongside a special emulation campaign celebrating the Party Congress at all levels (2025-2030) and the 6th Điện Biên Patriotic Emulation Congress (2025-2030).

Their creativity, volunteerism, and pioneering spirit are evident in various activities, from preserving historical traditions to building a stronger, more engaged Youth Union.

Following the launch, Điện Biên’s youths embarked on numerous meaningful activities. The March to the Border campaign was initiated with vibrant, hands-on events, expressing gratitude to those safeguarding national sovereignty. Through this, young people deepened their patriotic spirit and commitment to contributing to the nation’s development and security.

From the center of Nậm Pồ district, a delegation of the provincial Youth Union and volunteer youths traveled over 40km of rugged mountain roads to reach the border commune of Nà Bủng. There, they carried out community-driven initiatives, including: Inaugurating and handing over the “Lighting up border roads” project in Nà Bủng 3 village; organizing a youth journey to a national border marker, participating in a flag-raising and national anthem ceremony at Border Marker No.49 in Nà Bủng commune; clearing and maintaining pathways to the border marker; and distributing gifts to residents and students in border areas.

The “Lighting up border roads” project installed 19 solar-powered streetlights along a 500-meter stretch, enhancing safety and security. The village’s head Giàng A Giang expressed his appreciation: Everyone in the village is delighted! The streetlights make travel safer and improve traffic conditions, while also reducing security concerns and bringing peace of mind to the community.

Demonstrating the spirit of solidarity and volunteerism, young people extended their support to disadvantaged families and children in remote areas. Lý Thị Ca, a resident of Nà Bủng 3 village, shared: “I am deeply moved by the gifts from the young volunteers. Their support motivates my family to strive for a better life and escape poverty.”

A key highlight was the “I Love My Country” flag-raising ceremony at Border Marker No.49. Standing before the marker, amid the fluttering national flag and the mountain winds, youths felt an overwhelming sense of national pride and responsibility.

Phàng A Sử, a youth union member from Nà Bủng 3 village, expressed his emotions: “Wearing the blue youth uniform fills me with honor and pride. Attending the flag-raising ceremony at the border marker is an unforgettable experience. This moment will be a lifelong memory, inspiring me to study hard and contribute to my homeland’s development.”

Every March, young people take pride in Youth Month, a time when the Party and the State honor their contributions. In the spirit of this special month, Điện Biên’s youths have demonstrated remarkable dedication through numerous impactful initiatives. Whether large or small, each project embodies the enthusiasm and ambition of young people eager to contribute. The activities of the 2025 Youth Month further strengthen the legacy of volunteerism, leaving a lasting mark and reaffirming the vital role of Điện Biên’s youths in building and protecting the nation.
