Provincial Party Secretary Trần Tiến Dũng receives Bokeo delegation

ĐBP - On August 16, Trần Tiến Dũng, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Điện Biên provincial Party Committee, and Head of the National Assembly Deputy Delegation of the province, paid a courtesy reception to a delegation from Bokeo province (Laos) led by Major General Penkham Boutchanpheng, Member of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council.

Attending the reception were Cao Thị Tuyết Lan, Member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Council; Lò Văn Cương, Member of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; along with leaders of provincial departments, boards, and sectors.

At the reception, provincial Party Secretary Trần Tiến Dũng briefly introduced the prominent potentials and advantages of Điện Biên in economic development, particularly in agriculture, tourism, and energy.

Highlighting the province’s socioeconomic development in the first six months of 2026, he emphasized that Điện Biên is focusing on improving the investment environment, mobilizing social resources, and accelerating investment attraction into key sectors to generate momentum to achieve double-digit economic growth in 2026.

Penkham Boutchanpheng, Secretary of the Bokeo Provincial Party Committee, gave an overview of the geographic location, natural conditions, population scale, and socioeconomic progress of Bokeo province in the early months of 2026.

Regarding the working agenda, Penkham Boutchanpheng stated that the provincial working mission will visit the provinces of Điện Biên, Sơn La, Phú Thọ, and Lào Cai. The visit to Điện Biên aims to contribute to consolidating and enhancing the friendship and cooperation between Việt Nam and Laos in general, and between the two provinces of Điện Biên and Bokeo in particular.

Although sharing no direct border, Điện Biên and Bokeo have consistently maintained and promoted multifaceted cooperation, ranging from trade and human resource training to agricultural development. Both sides have closely coordinated in crime prevention and combat, especially against drug-related offenses.

In the spirit of friendship, cooperation, and mutual development, leaders of both provinces agreed to continue maintaining and consolidating solidary and close ties while increasing exchanges and coordination among agencies, departments, sectors, and localities on both sides. This will help leverage the potentials and strengths of each province more effectively, expand cooperation across suitable fields, foster socioeconomic development, and deepen the Việt Nam-Laos friendship.
