Điện Biên welcomes over 42,500 tourists during 2025 Tết holiday

ĐBP - During the seven-day 2025 Lunar New Year (Tết) holiday, from January 25 to 31, 2025, Điện Biên Province welcomed more than 42,500 tourists, including 250 international visitors.

The number of guests staying at local accommodation reached over 12,000, with an average room occupancy rate of 35%.

Total revenue from tourism activities during the holiday reached VNĐ 77 billion, highlighting the sector’s significant potential for the local economy.

To serve tourists during the holiday, the Điện Biên Provincial People’s Committee directed relevant departments, agencies, and localities to thoroughly prepare, ensuring optimal infrastructure and services.

Many historical sites, scenic spots, and tourist attractions in the province open to welcome visitors. Localities such as Điện Biên Đông District, Tuần Giáo, Nậm Pồ, and Điện Biên Phủ City hosted various cultural events, traditional artistic programs, ethnic minority festivals, and sports activities, drawing thousands of tourists and creating a vibrant atmosphere.

These tourism activities during the 2025 Tết holiday aim to preserve and promote traditional cultural values, boost local economic development, and cater to the increasing demand for tourism.
