Taking place over two days (February 1-2), the festival features a diverse and engaging lineup of activities, including traditional music competitions, folk games, and sports such as tù lu (spinning top), stick pushing, tó má lẹ (a traditional game of the Thái ethnic group), ném pao (ball throwing), swinging game, and cockfighting.
One of the festival’s highlights is the distribution of 2,000 bowls of phở (beef noodle soup), offered free of charge to all attendees.
Amid the joyful atmosphere of the new spring, local authorities launched a tree-planting festival, themed “Forever grateful to President Ho Chi Minh,” planting 50 Khaya trees around the Phìn Hồ Stadium.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Đại, Vice Chairman of the Nậm Pồ District People’s Committee, emphasized that the Phìn Hồ Spring Festival serves as a meaningful initiative to preserve, uphold, and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of ethnic minority communities in the district.
The festival also provides a vibrant platform for cultural and artistic exchanges, sports competitions, and recreational activities, fostering community bonds among residents, officials, and soldiers.
Through this festival, the people of Phìn Hồ Commune in particular and Nậm Pồ District in general are further inspired to bring into play their spirit of solidarity, actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, and collectively harness all available potential and resources to build a prosperous and thriving Nậm Pồ District.
