Digital transformation boosts competitiveness for businesses

ĐBP - In the context of a rapidly growing digital economy, digital transformation is no longer an optional trend but a necessary requirement for businesses to survive and develop. Applying information technology and digitizing production and business processes helps enterprises optimize operations and enhance capacity. In Điện Biên province, many organizations have proactively implemented technology solutions across management, operations, and customer service.

The Điện Biên provincial Post Office is among the pioneers in fully integrating information technology into all activities. Currently, the office operates around 30 systems, software, and applications covering every stage from acceptance, exploitation, transportation, customer care, reconciliation and payment to marketing, management, supervision, and quality measurement. A standout platform is “MPITS”, in use since 2021, with 11 applications and 5 core solution groups, fully synchronized with software systems including PacknSend for information processing, TMS for transport management, WMS for warehouse management, My Vietnam Post for order creation and management, and Ding Dong delivery applications.

The MPITS platform enables Post Office staff to work quickly, saving time and optimizing processes.

Previously, staff had to operate multiple separate software, which slowed information processing. Today, with the unified transaction and sales platform, all steps are performed through a single “touchpoint.” Data from order intake, logistics, warehouse management, and customer care are integrated on one system in real-time. This allows managers at all levels to monitor business performance, inventory, and transaction progress at any time.

Beyond internal operations, synchronized digital solutions from the corporation enable customer engagement, allowing users to select services according to their needs. Customers can create orders, choose services, request pickups, and track shipments via My VietnamPost Plus; they can also make online payments and quickly look up postal information.

Through digital applications, 100% of the Post Office’s staff are equipped with skills, knowledge, and the ability to operate digital platforms, supported by modern equipment and tools to deliver services and enhance customer satisfaction.

Post Office employees introduce customers to My VietnamPost Plus for proactive order management.

Mr. Phan Long Giang, Director of the provincial Post Office, said: “Applying IT software in business operations has improved productivity and efficiency, optimized processes, and reduced operational time and costs. Specifically, customer interaction tasks have decreased by 70%, operational documents by 90%, and service procedures have been shortened. Transparent management of parcels, forms, and transactions increases customer satisfaction while expanding the market and reaching more customers, especially young clients and e-commerce businesses, thereby enhancing competitiveness in the increasingly fierce postal and postal-financial environment.”

Currently, small enterprises, cooperatives, and micro-businesses are gradually adapting to trends and actively applying digital technology to operations. For example, the Quà Điện Biên Cooperative, established in 2019, boldly invested in the professional sales management software Kiotviet by early 2024. With nearly 100 local agricultural products, the cooperative uses the software to manage orders, calculate payments, conduct inventory, and generate revenue reports efficiently with just a few clicks. Digital tools help the cooperative operate effectively and maintain an average annual revenue of VND 500 million.

The Quà Điện Biên Cooperative uses sales management software to manage orders, inventory, and calculations efficiently with just a few steps.

Beyond sales management, the cooperative has developed online stores on social media platforms and e-commerce sites such as Zalo, Facebook, and Shopee, enabling nationwide product distribution. Tax reporting and invoice payments are also conducted via digital software, reducing errors and saving time. Ms. Lê Thị Duyên, manager of the Quà Điện Biên Cooperative, said: “Selling via social media combined with store management software not only helps us closely monitor business activities but also quickly reach customers while saving costs and labor.”

The experiences of the provincial Post Office and the Quà Điện Biên Cooperative show that regardless of scale, proactively applying digital transformation appropriately can bring breakthrough results and tangible benefits: shortening processes, reducing costs, improving service quality, increasing customer satisfaction, and expanding markets. Digital transformation is not just a support tool but a key for Điện Biên enterprises to adapt to trends and develop sustainably in the digital era.
