Implementing the plan for innovation and digital transformation in agriculture and environment sectors

ĐBP - On May 10, at the Kinh Bắc Cultural Center in Bắc Ninh city, Bắc Ninh province, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment organized a nationwide online conference to implement the plan for Resolution No.57 of the Politburo.

This resolution focuses on breakthrough development in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation within the Agriculture and Environment sectors. The conference was chaired by Minister of Agriculture and Environment Đỗ Đức Duy. Attending the conference from the Điện Biên province bridge point was comrade Lò Văn Cương, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, and leaders from several related departments and agencies.

The conference was divided into two main sessions. During the plenary session, participants reviewed some achievements in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation in line with the spirit of Resolution No.57. They also addressed the difficulties, shortcomings, and inadequacies in the research, transfer, and application of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation. Furthermore, the session highlighted the orientations set by the National Assembly and the Government for this field.

In the thematic sessions, delegates concentrated on studying and discussing four key topics: Crop production and plant protection, forestry, electromechanics, and post-harvest technology; livestock and veterinary, fisheries, and fishery inspection; environment, water resources, and remote sensing; and irrigation, disaster prevention, hydrometeorology, and climate change.

Regarding Điện Biên province, the implementation of Resolution No.57 has been marked by high political determination. The province has made significant investments in digital infrastructure, and shared data systems have been completed and effectively integrated. There is a strong focus on training high-quality human resources and promoting cooperation with corporations, universities, and international partners. Additionally, many businesses in the province have received support for digital transformation, including the application of traceability technology and intellectual property protection.

The conference also focused on discussing research orientations, policy mechanisms, the application of advanced technology, and the promotion of commercializing scientific products to support the development of the sector. A notable event at the conference was the signing ceremony for cooperation agreements aimed at implementing the resolution within the agriculture and environment sectors.
