Điện Biên leader inspects major project in Mường Lay Town

ĐBP - On the morning of April 5, Trần Quốc Cường, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Điện Biên provincial Party Committee, conducted a field survey of the proposed site for the construction of a spiritual cultural park in Mường Lay Town.

The proposed spiritual cultural park project in Mường Lay Town is planned to cover an area of 1.5 hectares in Sông Đà Ward. The aim of the project is to honor and commemorate the souls of residents and soldiers who lost their lives during the devastating flash floods in 1990 and 1996.

The overall design concept will recreate the fierce flow of those historical floods, blending with landscape architecture techniques to form a dynamic and meaningful park space.

The site is envisioned as a venue for cultural and community activities. At its heart, a circular plaza will be constructed, featuring a memorial square and monument named “Following the Spirit’s Journey,” symbolizing the enduring remembrance of those who passed away.

Provincial Party Secretary Trần Quốc Cường emphasized that on-site inspections and firsthand understanding of the situation are crucial for the province to provide timely guidance, leadership, and solutions to overcome obstacles and accelerate the project’s implementation.

He also stressed the need for close coordination between the town authorities and relevant agencies to address any difficulties and strictly adhere to regulations throughout the project’s implementation process.
