Youths make dedication to community

ĐBP - For the young generation of Điện Biên province, love for the Fatherland is not only expressed in emotions or attitudes but is turned into concrete, meaningful actions. In every way, each contribution becomes vivid proof of patriotism and the desire of youths to devote themselves to the community.

At the beginning of August, when floods swept through many villages, the image of Xa Dung commune Youth Union Secretary Lầu A Mua carrying an injured villager on a stretcher for eight hours through torrential rain and fast-flowing streams touched thousands of hearts. Recalling that day, he said: “On the 20km journey, we barely stopped, except for 15 minutes to administer fluids to the injured person. Everyone was exhausted, but our only thought was to be faster to save his life. By 7 p.m., we finally reached the ambulance waiting on the other side. Only then did we breathe a sigh of relief.”

Groundbreaking ceremony of the “Happiness Bridge” in Nậm Chà Nọi 2 village, Quảng Lâm commune.

Also in August, in Nậm Chà Nọi 2 village (Quảng Lâm commune), the groundbreaking of the “Happiness Bridge” marked a milestone of youths’ commitment. The village is home to 54 households of the Hmông ethnic group, long dependent on a fragile wooden bridge that was swept away each rainy season.

To put an end to this risk, the Điện Biên Youth Union, in coordination with the Vietnam Volunteer Resource Information Center and the “Power of 2000” Project, launched the construction of a permanent bridge worth VND 400 million. Expected to be completed in September, the bridge will not only ensure safe travel for villagers but also stand as a symbol of solidarity, responsibility, and youthful enthusiasm.

“These projects reflect the spirit of responsibility and dedication of Điện Biên’s youths, creating motivation and confidence for future contributions,” said Mùa Chiến Thắng, Vice Chairman of the Việt Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Điện Biên province and Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Youth Union.

Young people participate in the “I Love My Fatherland” journey and flag-raising ceremony at A Pa Chải, Sín Thầu.

In these historic days, as the nation celebrates 80 years of independence, Điện Biên youths continue to shine through meaningful activities: from the sacred journey “I Love My Fatherland” and the flag-raising ceremony at the A Pa Chải Border Marker in Sín Thầu, to the “Road of National Flags” project where hundreds of red flags with golden stars line mountain roads and villages, evoking pride and unity.

By turning thought into action and love for the country into tangible deeds, Điện Biên’s young generation is writing a new story of peace with knowledge, compassion, ideals, and a burning desire to contribute.
