Young people in Điện Biên spread a patriotic “trend”

ĐBP - Marking the nation’s major holidays, the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2), young people in Điện Biên province are creating a vibrant new wave of patriotism. Coming straight from the heart, this spirit of love for the nation goes beyond traditional activities, taking on a youthful, creative form that resonates with the modern era.

A stroll along the main streets of Điện Biên Phủ ward reveals groups of young people, especially young women, dressed in flowing áo dài with the national flag fluttering brightly in the background. They gather at iconic landmarks such as the Điện Biên Phủ Victory Monument, May 7 Square, the Điện Biên Phủ Victory Museum, or at cafés decorated in red-and-yellow themes to capture patriotic moments. Against the blue sky, the red of the national flag blending with the white áo dài creates a striking tableau.

Youth Union members at the provincial Center for Culture and Cinema join the “I Love My Fatherland” campaign.

Trần Phương Anh, from Co Rốm hamlet, Thanh Nưa commune, shared: “On each of the nation’s great holidays, we often wear the áo dài and take photos with the national flag to express our pride. For us, this is more than just a social media trend, it’s truly a way to show our patriotism as young people.”

Cafés across Điện Biên Phủ ward have quickly embraced this spirit. Instead of modern decorations, many venues are adorned with the vivid red of the national flag and the Party flag. Decorative pennants and banners with meaningful slogans are proudly displayed. Owners have even created special check-in corners, from wall murals of the map of Vietnam to artistic displays featuring the red flag with its yellow star. Drinks and desserts are designed in patriotic colors, red iced teas, cakes decorated with five-pointed stars, delighting visitors, particularly the younger crowd.

Every photo and short video captured in these spaces is not only a personal keepsake but also widely shared across Facebook and TikTok. In recent days, the feeds of young people in Điện Biên have been filled with images and clips of the red flag against the Northwest’s mountains and rice fields. Many posts have drawn hundreds of shares and comments, affirming that patriotism among the younger generation is not fading but, instead, flourishing with creativity.

This “beautiful trend” in Điện Biên is far more than a fleeting craze. It is a genuine, vibrant, and responsible expression of patriotism from the youth, the future stewards of the nation. Patriotism is no longer an abstract concept but something tangible, expressed in everyday actions.

Red flags shine bright amid the green fields and mountains of the Northwestern region.

In Điện Biên, the land that “shook the world” with its historic victory, the act takes on even deeper meaning. Today’s youth not only cherish the sacrifices of their forefathers but also pledge to carry forward that tradition with their energy, creativity, and pride.

The harmony of the áo dài and the national flag symbolizes tradition and patriotism.

Once again, it is clear that patriotism endures through generations, ever renewed and strengthened. In Điện Biên, the spirit of love for the nation is not only alive, it is trending, inspiring a vision of a modern, dynamic Vietnam, deeply rooted in its cultural identity.
