Three semi-boarding dining rooms handed over to Điện Biên students

ĐBP - In a two-day ceremony held on March 4 and 5, the Điện Biên provincial Red Cross Society, in collaboration with relevant authorities and units, inaugurated and handed over three semi-boarding dining rooms to local students.

Attendees included Mrs. Bùi Thị Hoa, President of the Central Committee of the Việt Nam Red Cross Society; Mrs. Nguyễn Kim Hồng, Head of the volunteer group “Nghĩa tình Quê hương” (Love for the homeland); and Mr. Bùi Quang Phục, Vice Chairman of the Điện Biên provincial Red Cross Society.

The three dining rooms, located at Mường Đăng Primary School (Mường Đăng commune, Mường Ảng district), Luân Giói Kindergarten (Giói B village, Luân Giói commune, Điện Biên Đông district), and Chua Ta Semi-boarding Primary School (Chua Ta B village, Phi Nhừ commune, Điện Biên Đông district), were constructed from April 2024, with each covering an area of 59 square meters and costing between VNĐ 200-300 million.

Funding for the project came from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society and various sponsors, including the volunteer group “Nghĩa tình Quê hương”, Central Retail, the Hungary-Vietnam Friendship Association, and Long Thành Golf Investment and Trading J.S.C.

During the handover ceremony, the organizing panel also presented over 1,120 gifts to local students, comprising cakes, candies, and T-shirts worth over VNĐ 60 million.

This activity falls under the “Nutrition for poor and disabled children” program launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, aiming to improve nutrition and learning conditions for underprivileged students from ethnic minority groups, motivating them to continue their education.
