During his lifetime, President Hồ Chí Minh always showed great concern for the younger generation, emphasizing the importance of their role in national development. He once said, “Wherever there’s hardship, wherever there’s difficulty, the youth are always there”. Remembering his words, youth union members in Điện Biên province have left their mark on every stage of the province’s development. This is a force that is always enthusiastic, creative, and passionate in participating in movements initiated by various levels and sectors. Many action-oriented movements have been effectively implemented, becoming regular and continuous activities that are recognized and highly appreciated.

Each year, under the leadership of the provincial Youth Union Standing Committee, volunteer activities by the youth in Điện Biên focus on five major areas, including: building new-style rural areas, developing civilized urban areas, protecting the environment, responding to climate change, and volunteering for community life.

In carrying out the campaign for youth to join hands in building new-style rural areas and civilized urban areas, local youth organizations have developed plans to proactively repair rural roads, dredge canals, clean up the environment, and support young people in economic development linked to agricultural restructuring, economic restructuring, and improving income for youths. Since 2024, youth organizations across the province have mobilized over 2 tons of rice to assist people in flood-affected areas and participated in repairing and constructing hundreds of kilometers of rural roads.

Between 2019 and 2024, young people in the province undertook numerous projects and tasks aligned with local socio-economic development goals, such as building charitable houses, boarding houses for students, beautiful schools for children, and recreational and activity centers for youth, with a total investment of nearly VND 50 billion.

Mùa Chiến Thắng, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Youth Union, noted that the youth’s revolutionary movements have undergone significant transformations, steadily developing over the years. Youth union members have played a pivotal role in promoting socio-economic growth, ensuring national defense and security, and contributing to the province’s achievements, earning recognition from local authorities.

In the face of the rapidly evolving digital age, young people in Điện Biên province have proactively participated in safeguarding the Party’s ideological foundation. They have heightened their vigilance against hostile forces’ schemes, disseminated positive information, and shared inspiring stories about youth union members and everyday life.

Most youth union organizations now have social media pages, particularly on Facebook, where they share useful and positive information, refute misinformation, and promote uplifting stories. By enhancing awareness and intensifying propaganda, each youth union member can better fulfill their responsibilities.

Every year, the provincial Youth Union promptly honors and rewards exemplary individuals and outstanding deeds, promoting and spreading these positive role models for young people to learn from and follow. This, in turn, contributes to the education of values, raises awareness, and helps positive elements and beauty to spread throughout society.

Under the guidance of the youth union organizations at all levels, young people in Điện Biên province have demonstrated their capabilities in the new era. Despite challenges, they are always ready to assume and complete tasks. This dedication serves as a foundation for local authorities to consider, plan, and appoint young people to various positions within the political system.

Many youth union members, after being nurtured, planned, and appointed, have effectively fulfilled their responsibilities, exemplifying their pioneering spirit and setting a positive example in various fields. Their efforts have earned recognition from organizations, units, authorities, and local residents.

Under the Party’s guidance, young people in Điện Biên province have consistently embodied a passionate and ambitious spirit. Embracing their mission in the nation’s new era, Youth Union bases continue to innovate their activities, adopting diverse and flexible approaches. By upholding the spirit of solidarity and creativity, they accomplish tasks, contributing to local authorities’ achievements and deserving the Party’s trust.
