Creating a ready mindset for 2025 exam candidates

ĐBP - The 2025 high school graduation exam is approaching, and building a proactive mindset for students has become a key factor determining the effectiveness of review sessions and exam results. Beyond simply preparing knowledge, students need to be trained in spirit, time management skills, and scientific study methods. Proactivity helps them confidently overcome pressure, maximize their abilities, and open wide doors for future opportunities.

In the 2024-2025 school year, Boarding High School for Ethnic Minorities in Điện Biên district, Điện Biên province has three grade 12 classes with a total of 103 students. At this time, grade 12 students are in the final stage preparing for the high school graduation exam. To support effective review, the school has developed a thorough review plan divided into two clear phases, closely linked to the study progress and the mock exam structure provided by the Ministry of Education and Training.

Grade 12 students focus on review preparing for the 2025 high school graduation exam.

Previously, in phase 1 (from February 17 to April 30), the school focused on regular morning teaching and organized afternoon review sessions with each subject reviewed twice a week. Teachers simultaneously taught and reviewed immediately after each lesson to ensure students grasp key knowledge. During review, teachers prepared outlines by topic, guided students for self-study at home, and regularly checked their self-study progress. Mock tests and surveys were strictly organized, closely following the official exam structure to help students get familiar with exam pressure and question types.

Starting phase 2 from May 2, the review process is divided into three rounds with specific goals. Round one (May 2-31) focuses on topic-based review to help students systematize basic knowledge from grades 10 to 12. Round two (June 2-15) provides practice in test-taking skills; teachers review each knowledge section and supply exercises to check review results. Finally, from June 15 until the exam, emphasis is placed on intensive exam practice, especially on student classification to tailor review methods suitable for each group.

Teachers at Boarding High School for Ethnic Minorities in Điện Biên district design high-level exercises for targeted review.

Lương Đình Tuấn, Principal of the school, shared: “We always ensure exam preparation is practical and closely aligned with the ministry’s guidance. Teachers need to build plans from the start of the school year, not wait until exams are near. Each lesson in class is linked with knowledge consolidation to strengthen students daily.”

Boarding High School for Ethnic Minorities in Điện Biên district also emphasizes student classification early on for appropriate support methods. For weak students, teachers prepare simplified and streamlined review content while ensuring core knowledge requirements. For good and excellent students, the content is enhanced. Average students are encouraged to focus on the four main subjects for graduation, while students aiming for university or college entrance are guided to review according to relevant subject blocks. Additionally, teachers instruct students on reasonable time distribution to avoid biased or scattered study. Thanks to well-organized review processes and attention to details, the school is gradually helping students have a proactive mindset and confidently enter the exam with high hopes.

Teachers and students at Thanh Chăn High School review knowledge and prepare for the 2025 high school graduation exam.

Heading into the 2025 high school graduation exam, Thanh Chăn High School implements various solutions to help students prepare both knowledge and mindset proactively. Based on the latest exam regulations and organization plan, the school updates and disseminates important information to all teachers, students, and parents, ensuring everyone understands the exam process and requirements. Homeroom teachers collaborate with subject teachers to advise and guide students in choosing exam subject combinations suitable to their abilities and aspirations. Specialist groups regularly exchange materials and exam preparation experiences not only within the school but also linking with other units province-wide. From student classification to organizing ability-based review, the school has developed appropriate strategies.

A notable highlight is the sense of responsibility and accompaniment of teachers in exam preparation. Trần Đăng Khoa, Principal of the school, shared: “Preparing for the 2025 high school graduation exam, especially strictly implementing Circular 29 of the Ministry of Education and Training, our teachers voluntarily support students with free tutoring during free periods. This is a very meaningful and practical activity to improve the quality of exam preparation. All these efforts are creating a proactive, confident mindset for our grade 12 students to approach the exam with determination to achieve the best results.”

The 2025 high school graduation exam is nearing, and the provincial Department of Education and Training has proactively implemented many measures to ensure the exam is conducted according to regulations, safely, strictly, and effectively. This year, about 7,610 candidates are expected to take the exam province-wide, including approximately 800 independent candidates. To meet organizational requirements, the department has arranged 28 official exam sites and 22 backup sites at local high schools. The exam staff comprises up to 1,540 people, including 28 site supervisors, 56 deputy supervisors, 78 secretaries, 886 invigilators, 256 monitors, along with 221 members from police, medical, service, and order teams. The department actively organizes full participation in training sessions on exam organization led by the ministry; meanwhile, it establishes an Exam Council, issues guidelines, and assigns specific tasks to specialized departments, district education offices, high schools, continuing education centers, and vocational training centers.

Regarding review support in this critical final phase, Cù Huy Hoàn, Deputy Director of the department, said: “For student review, the department has clear guidance, requiring schools to complete teaching plans, organize mock exams, evaluate and adjust accordingly for different student groups. Schools encourage spreading awareness about exam updates, especially regulations related to violation handling, including criminal sanctions for serious cheating. Furthermore, the department directs schools and centers to cooperate with mass organizations, parents, and socio-political organizations to support students, especially in difficult areas. Exam support activities are being developed to ensure students have the best conditions to enter this important exam with confidence and stability.”
