Despite preparations for a planned merger into the future Điện Biên College, all four current colleges are actively conducting admissions outreach to ensure uninterrupted operations and safeguard students’ educational opportunities.
Điện Biên College of Economics and Technology began its enrollment campaign in January 2025. The school formed five outreach teams, which have since visited nearly 120 lower and upper secondary schools across the province, reaching students with career guidance and admissions information. A communications team supports this work by producing promotional videos, maintaining the school’s website and social media platforms, and offering real-time consultations online.

According to Lê Thị Hồng Duyên, Acting Head of the college’s Academic Affairs Department, the merger plan has not disrupted the college’s admissions or training activities. “We are continuing with our regular enrollment plans,” she said. The school has tasked class advisors and student mentors with turning every student into an ambassador for recruitment efforts.
For the 2025 academic year, the college is targeting 100 new enrollments at the college level across 10 programs, ranging from IT and accounting to land management and legal services, and 380 at the intermediate level in 14 fields. Last year, the school exceeded its enrollment targets by 172.4%, and with an expanded intake target of 480 this year, recruitment activities have been ramped up accordingly.
Similarly, Điện Biên Vocational College has mobilized three outreach teams between March 16 and April 2 to connect with more than 10,000 students at nearly 100 schools. These efforts introduce prospective students to the school’s training programs, campus resources, and employment opportunities.

Bùi Thị Thu Hiền, Vice Principal of the college, noted that for 2025, the school will admit 330 intermediate-level students across 11 programs and 205 college-level students across seven. Four of these programs, including Industrial Electricity, Automotive Technology, Construction Engineering, and Silviculture, are designated as national key programs. The school continues to accept applications and open classes as quotas are met.
Efforts are also being made to raise awareness about the benefits available to students, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, including those from low-income families and ethnic minorities.
In addition to technical and vocational education, other colleges in Điện Biên are also actively recruiting. Accordingly, Điện Biên College of Education plans to enroll 150 students for its preschool education program. Over 450 applications have already been received ahead of the May 11 aptitude test, and preparations are underway.

Meanwhile, Điện Biên Medical College has completed two recruitment rounds at high schools in nine districts and townships, promoting its training programs in nursing (college-level), pharmacy, and general medicine (intermediate-level) to nearly 2,900 students.
Despite upcoming institutional changes, the province’s four colleges remain steadfast in their mission to provide accessible, practical education. With robust outreach efforts and well-structured training programs, they aim to help students find viable career paths while contributing to the province’s skilled workforce development.
