High school students in Điện Biên ready for graduation exam

ĐBP - On June 25, along with over 1.1 million candidates nationwide, around 7,600 candidates from Điện Biên province gathered at exam centers to complete registration for the 2025 National High School Graduation Exam.

To prepare for the official exam day, the candidates were briefed on exam regulations, the schedule, and had their personal information verified and corrected if necessary. Exam proctors emphasized the candidates’ responsibilities, including what items they could bring into the exam room, to avoid violations due to carelessness or lack of knowledge, and to prevent cheating.

The exam proctor explains the regulations and related information for the 2025 National High School Graduation Exam.

This year’s High School Graduation Exam is the first for students who studied under the 2018 National General Education Program. It also accommodates students who studied under the 2006 National General Education Program and are retaking the exam for university admission. The 2025 exam in Điện Biên will be held across 28 locations with 341 official exam rooms, including 3 locations for the 2006 National General Education Program and 25 locations for the 2018 National General Education Program. This is an increase of 2 exam centers compared to last year. A total of 7,641 candidates have registered, including 611 for the 2006 National General Education Program and 7,030 for the 2018 National General Education Program. Approximately 1,900 staff members, including teachers, administrative personnel, and others, will be mobilized to support the exam.

There are differences in the number of subjects and exam sessions between the two groups of candidates. Candidates from the 2018 National General Education Program will have 3 exam sessions: Vietnamese, Mathematics, and one elective subject consisting of two subjects from their curriculum. Candidates from the 2006 National General Education Program will have 4 exam sessions: Vietnamese, Mathematics, Foreign Languages, and one elective subject (Natural Science or Social Science). The timing for the elective session and breaks between sessions differ for the two programs. Therefore, exam proctors have reminded candidates to pay attention to the schedule, exam duration, and related details.

The exam proctors check a candidate’s personal information at the provincial Ethnic Boarding School exam center.

To ensure convenience for the candidates, high schools in the province whose students are assigned to other exam centers have developed appropriate plans based on the local situation. Most schools are providing transportation to ensure timely arrival for all exam sessions. Some schools with boarding facilities have accommodated students, providing meals and focused review sessions. Various organizations and agencies are assisting with students’ meals during the exam period to ensure that students are at ease. This effort aims to minimize the barriers related to transportation, weather, or finances that could prevent candidates from attending the exam.

Candidates complete the registration process at the provincial Ethnic Boarding School exam center.

Tomorrow (June 26), candidates will officially begin the 2025 High School Graduation Exam with the Vietnamese exam in the morning and Mathematics in the afternoon. On June 27, candidates from the 2006 National General Education Program will take the elective session (morning) and the Foreign Languages exam (afternoon), while those from the 2018 National General Education Program will take the elective exam in the morning. June 28 is reserved for any backup exams.
