The program was attended by delegates representing provincial departments, boards, and branches; leaders of communes of Điện Biên province and Lai Châu province; former leaders of Mường Tè district, Mường Nhé district, and a large number of tourists from inside and outside the province.
Notably, the presence of the delegation from the Party Committee, authorities, and people of Qushui town (Jiangcheng county, Yunnan province, China) created an atmosphere of solidarity and cohesion between the two localities sharing the Hà Nhì culture.
The festival opened with a sports exchange program between the Qushui town delegation and the host team Sín Thầu. Air volleyball matches and pickleball competitions brought a bustling rhythm to the festival, creating opportunities for delegates, tourists, and people on both sides of the border to immerse themselves in the spirit of friendship and bonding.
At the same time, the traditional cuisine contest of Sín Thầu commune took place excitedly with the participation of 21 teams from 21 villages in the commune. Dishes were elaborately prepared, demonstrating sophistication in Hà Nhì culinary culture through ingredients familiar to the border mountains and forests. This is an occasion to honor indigenous culinary values, while introducing to tourists the unique features of the Tet feast of the Hà Nhì people.
The highlight of the festival was the cultural and art exchange program at the yard of the Sín Thầu commune headquarters. With 14 singing and dancing performances by both host Sín Thầu and guests from Qushui town, the Hà Nhì cultural space was vividly recreated through the sound of khèn (pan-pipe), dances, and brilliant spring costumes. Each performance was like a cultural piece bringing viewers back to the rhythm of Tet life of the people in the westernmost part of the Fatherland.
Delivering the opening speech, Chairman of Sín Thầu commune People’s Committee Nguyễn Văn Thắng emphasized: The songs and dances in the program are "messengers" connecting friendship, conveying the thoughts and aspirations of the people of the two localities. This is a meaningful activity to preserve and spread the Hà Nhì cultural identity, while strengthening understanding and bonding between Sín Thầu commune and Qushui town.
In the brilliant art space, delegates, people, and tourists enjoyed lyrical folk songs, graceful dance performances, and even modern songs blended with traditional tones, creating a vibrant polyphonic cultural picture.
The program concluded with the image of a widening xòe circle, as an affirmation of the solid solidarity and friendship relationship between Sín Thầu commune (Vietnam) and Qushui town (China), opening a fully meaningful and culturally rich Hà Nhì Tet season at the westernmost frontier.
