All set for election day across local communes

ĐBP - In recent days, alongside localities nationwide, communes and wards across Điện Biên province have been moving swiftly to complete preparations for the upcoming election, ensuring that every step is carried out on schedule and in full compliance with the law.

From reviewing voter lists to upgrading facilities and ceremonial decorations at polling stations, all tasks are being carefully implemented so that election day truly becomes a nationwide civic celebration.

At Mường Pồn commune, in parallel with posting voter lists and candidates’ biographies, the local authorities have focused on fully preparing facilities to ensure smooth election operations.

Nguyễn Văn Lương, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Mường Pồn commune, said that after receiving all 90 sets of election-related documents, the commune’s Election Committee promptly distributed them. At the same time, ballot boxes were inspected and newly made, including a total of 32 main ballot boxes and 16 auxiliary ballot boxes. The commune also engraved and received 39 new official seals (one seal of the commune Election Committee, six seals of election boards, 16 seals of polling teams and 16 “voted” stamps).

Residents of Mường Pồn commune review the voter list.

Mường Pồn commune has more than 6,380 voters casting ballots at 16 polling stations to elect deputies to the National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels. To date, voter lists as well as the lists and biographies of candidates for the National Assembly and People’s Councils have been publicly posted at all 16 locations for residents to review and verify. Observations at polling stations show that the former passive, wait-and-see mindset has largely faded. Many residents are now proactively seeking information, carefully studying candidates’ profiles and action programs, and discussing with one another the standards of the representatives they will choose to speak for the will and aspirations of the people.

“With a proactive and serious spirit, and with synchronized preparations in facilities, equipment and ceremonial arrangements, Mường Pồn is fully ready to ensure the election takes place safely, lawfully and democratically - truly a day of celebration for all”, Nguyễn Văn Lương affirmed.

At Sáng Nhè commune, to ensure a smooth election, the commune has directed a thorough review of facilities at all polling stations. The commune has 30 polling stations, including 15 located at village community houses, 11 at local kindergarten and primary school campuses, and 4 at the homes of village heads, Party cell secretaries and heads of village Fatherland Front working committees.

Phạm Ngọc Điện, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Sáng Nhè commune, said that all polling venues have been refurbished and arranged to provide the best possible conditions for voters. By now, preparations of ballot boxes and official seals have been completed. Public communication has also been intensified, peaking 20 days before election day, on election day itself and for 10 days afterward.

From the commune center to every village, national flags, banners and slogans are being displayed prominently. The festive atmosphere of the country’s major civic event is spreading through every household and everyday conversation, making residents eagerly look forward to the day.

At Nậm Din village in Tủa Chùa commune, home to nearly 400 voters, preparations for the election have been lively for weeks. The polling station is located at the village community house. Even before and after the Lunar New Year, the polling team proactively reviewed and readied all necessary conditions, from facilities and furniture to ceremonial decorations.

“Our village has completed all preparations and stepped up communication with voters. Now we are simply waiting for election day to carry out the remaining tasks,” said village head Giàng A Chứ.

Election day is drawing near. Communes and wards across the province are racing to complete the final stages of preparation with the highest sense of responsibility. With thorough readiness from the entire political system and strong public consensus, Điện Biên is fully prepared for this major civic event - a day when each ballot is not only a right, but also a responsibility and a shared commitment to the sustainable development of the homeland and the nation.
