Điện Biên youths towards national election day

ĐBP - The election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term is a major political event for the country and a nationwide civic occasion.

Amid a vibrant wave of patriotic competition, young people in Điện Biên are demonstrating initiative and responsibility, contributing to the success of the election through a wide range of practical and meaningful activities.

In the border commune of Nậm Kè, youth union members have in recent days been working closely with local authorities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and mass organizations to step up communication about the election, bringing information to every village and household.

Youth union members in Nậm Kè commune coordinate with border guard force to inform local households about the election.

Sùng A Tá, a youth union official in Nậm Kè commune, said that as election day approaches, greater emphasis has been placed on raising public awareness. Youth branches have proactively visited villages, choosing ways of communication suited to each group of residents, focusing on concise and easy-to-understand messages. At the same time, they encourage union members and their families to set an example by voting on time and fully exercising their rights and responsibilities as voters.

Given the mountainous terrain and difficult transport conditions, access to information in remote villages remains limited. Local authorities therefore attach special importance to public communication on the purpose and significance of the election, as well as voters’ rights and responsibilities, ensuring that information reaches residents promptly and fully. Youth union members have persistently gone “door to door”, combining direct outreach with visual communication methods suited to local conditions, helping people better understand the process and take part in the election with a sense of initiative and responsibility.

Hạng Thị Sia, a resident of Nậm Vì village in Mường Nhé commune, said that thanks to outreach efforts by commune officials and youth volunteers, she now has a clearer understanding of her rights and responsibilities on election day. Her family plans to arrange their work so they can vote at the designated time.

Alongside communication efforts, youth unions in communes have also formed volunteer teams to assist with preparations at polling stations, including decoration, ceremonial arrangements and environmental clean-ups to create a respectful and festive atmosphere for the nationwide event.

In Xa Dung commune, youth union members have been assigned specific tasks, working with other forces to complete facilities, inspect voting arrangements and ensure that all preparations are carried out seriously and on schedule.

Lầu A Mua, Secretary of the Youth Union in Xa Dung commune, said the election is regarded as a particularly important political task. Each youth union member therefore takes responsibility seriously and stands ready to carry out assigned duties with enthusiasm and a volunteer spirit. Whether in communication activities, facility preparations or coordination to maintain security and order, youths participate with the highest level of commitment under the direction of the commune Election Committee.

To ensure that the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term is conducted safely and in accordance with the law, the Standing Committee of the Điện Biên provincial Youth Union has issued a plan directing grassroots-level youth organizations to organize extensive political awareness activities. These efforts focus on promoting understanding of the role and position of the National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels, candidate standards, and the rights and obligations of voters, while countering false or distorted information about the election.

In addition to communication efforts, youth union members actively participate in decorating and preparing necessary facilities for the election.

Youth organizations have also registered numerous community projects and volunteer activities to mark the election, such as upgrading village roads and alleys, assisting elderly people and persons with disabilities in reaching polling stations, and deploying youth volunteer teams at voting sites to guide voters through the correct procedures.

Lò Xuân Hạnh, Deputy Secretary of the Điện Biên provincial Youth Union, said that youth organizations have closely followed the election timeline, translating directives into practical programs suited to local conditions. They have strengthened coordination with Party committees, authorities and relevant forces to effectively carry out assigned tasks, contributing to the overall success of the election.

The responsibility of young people is also reflected in their strict observance of election laws and responsible use of social media. Youth organizations regularly remind members to be cautious when receiving or sharing information, actively promote official sources and promptly report false or harmful online content to authorities. These efforts help maintain public confidence and consensus regarding the election.

The nationwide civic event is drawing near. With proactive and responsible participation, youths of Điện Biên are affirming their role in building a socialist rule-of-law state of the people, by the people and for the people. Today’s sense of responsibility will become a valuable foundation for the younger generation as they continue contributing to the province’s development in the years ahead.
