During mid-September, despite erratic weather changes, young soldiers on the training grounds of Regiment 82, Division 355, Military Region 2 maintained enthusiasm and confidence in executing rehearsal exercises.

Soldier Tẩn A Lù from the SPG-9 Platoon, Battalion 1, Regiment 82 shared that during tactical exercises, troops felt confident carrying out assigned tasks because unit cadres and commanders had provided attentive, meticulous, and deep guidance beforehand. The rigorous training process fostered personal maturity, bolstered fortitude, strengthened disciplinary awareness, and elevated operational capabilities, providing momentum to continue striving and fulfilling all assigned duties.

To guarantee substantive conditioning, the cadre contingent does not merely introduce technical features and weapon usage procedures thoroughly, but also imparts practical field experience, remaining close to the field, guiding movements, and demonstrating actions first for soldiers to observe and emulate.

Senior Lieutenant Nguyễn Văn Trung from Company 1, Battalion 1, Regiment 82 shared that during every training session, cadres from the battalion tier downward are present on the drilling grounds to guide and correct soldiers’ postures through hands-on coaching. Cadres actively assess and classify soldiers to render timely assistance, conducting after-hours supplemental instruction for troops facing psychological hurdles or struggling with marksmanship principles, while assigning personnel to mentor individuals until they master movements and weapon handling.

To elevate training standards and disciplinary conditioning, the Party Committee and Command of Regiment 82 focus on leveraging the responsibility, exemplary role, and close grassroots-level supervision of cadres across all tiers. Unit commanders actively innovate training methodologies, adhere to practical conditions, and classify soldier proficiency to formulate suitable coaching measures. Cadres head directly down to drilling fields to practice alongside troops, correcting flawed actions promptly while maintaining strict discipline in every drill. Through this method, new recruits progressively cultivate regularized habits, heighten voluntary awareness, and enhance technical and tactical execution.

Inspection work at Regiment 82 has been overhauled toward substantive, rigorous, and safety-assured protocols. Units assign specific duties to each division and individual responsible for the safety of personnel, weaponry, and technical equipment, while thoroughly instructing and reminding soldiers to abide strictly by regulations during inspection phases. Prior to execution, units unify methods, contents, and safety prerequisites, organizing inspections of drill grounds, logistics, equipment, and testing conditions. Grassroots-level cadres perform preliminary test-firing to evaluate the operational status of weapons and gear, guaranteeing complete safety before organizing exercises for soldiers. Upon concluding tests, units review the entire drill field, retrieving and counting equipment, weapons, and materiel according to standard procedures.

The training and conditioning achievements of Regiment 82 officers and soldiers are demonstrated through multiple drills, competitions, and athletic contests across various tiers. From early 2026 to date, the Regiment has organized three field exercises and participated in numerous competitions, achieving high distinctions. Notable examples include the 2026 Training Preparation Contest, the Outstanding Infantry Battalion Commander Contest, the Outstanding Armament Assistant and Storekeeper Contest, the Outstanding Political Lecturer Contest, the Young Orator Contest, and the knowledge competition marking the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Military Region 2 Armed Forces from October 19, 1946 to October 19, 2026. These activities serve to evaluate and elevate proficiency, practical application, and ideological resilience among cadres and soldiers, meeting training and combat readiness demands.

Lieutenant Colonel Lê Hồng Việt, Political Director of Regiment 82, stated that instilling fortitude in soldiers is pursued through realistic training and rigorous conditioning under demanding conditions. Troops are placed in simulated combat scenarios, thereby enhancing their will, confidence, endurance, and determination to overcome hardships. Cadres across all echelons remain attentive and close to troops, grasping soldiers’ thoughts and aspirations to build a united, cohesive environment that supports collective progress.

Alongside training duties, the Party Committee and Command of Regiment 82 intertwine combat readiness with political education, regularization, and disciplinary management. Units consistently update current affairs and educate on revolutionary traditions, thereby heightening awareness, political resolve, disciplinary adherence, and the sense of responsibility of cadres and soldiers. All personnel participate in political education sessions, with 100% meeting test requirements, of which over 85% achieve good or excellent ratings.
