Điện Biên leaders pay tribute to martyrs on National Day

ĐBP – A delegation from Điện Biên Province, headed by Trần Quốc Cường, Member of the Central Party Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, laid wreaths and offered incense in tribute to the martyrs at the Điện Biên Phủ Battlefield Memorial and the A1 Martyrs' Cemetery on the morning of Friday, marking the 79th National Day (2 September 1945 - 2024).

Accompanying the delegation were Mùa A Sơn, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Lê Thành Đô, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee; Giàng Thị Hoa, Member of the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Board and Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council; Mùa A Vảng, Alternate Member of the Central Party Committee, Member of the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Board, and Chairman of the Việt Nam Fatherland Front Committee of the Province. The delegation also included other key members of the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Board, the Provincial People's Council, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, as well as representatives from various provincial departments, agencies, and localities.

The provincial leaders observe a moment of silence to honour and pay tribute to the martyrs at the Điện Biên Phủ Battlefield Memorial.

At the Điện Biên Phủ Battlefield Memorial, the delegation offered flowers and incense and observed a moment of silence to honour President Hồ Chí Minh, the national liberation hero and world cultural figure; General Võ Nguyên Giáp, the first commander of the Việt Nam People's Army; and other heroic martyrs who bravely fought and sacrificed for the nation's independence, freedom, socialism, and the people's happiness.

With profound gratitude, the Party Committee, government, armed forces, and people of Điện Biên Province reaffirmed their commitment to unity, continuous learning, and diligent work, striving to excel in all assigned tasks. They were resolute in their determination to safeguard the revolutionary achievements and propel the development of Điện Biên Province forward.

After visiting the Điện Biên Phủ Battlefield Memorial, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Trần Quốc Cường and the delegation proceeded to lay a wreath and offer incense at the A1 Martyrs' Cemetery. The provincial leaders observed a moment of silence, solemnly honouring the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s independence and freedom.
