High schools “in full swing” for up-coming graduation exam

ĐBP - In mid-March, as the Grade 12 curriculum enters its final sprint, high school students across the province have officially entered the intensive “swing” of graduation exam preparation. The atmosphere is marked by seriousness, urgency, and high determination.

At Điện Biên Phủ High School, the “100-Day Breakthrough - Conquering the 2026 High School Graduation Exam” movement was launched in early March. Both teachers and students have officially entered the preparation phase for this “gateway” with the highest level of discipline. The school has solidified this movement into a staged review plan with the goal of climbing the provincial rankings, increasing average scores, and improving the standing of all subjects compared to 2025.

Principal Phạm Văn Cường noted that the review plan has been adjusted to stay close to the actual exam timeline. Teachers are increasing knowledge consolidation and providing at least 15 extra review periods per subject for each class. Additionally, the school emphasizes guiding students in self-study, building scientific schedules, and encouraging proactive research to achieve the best results in the 2026 exam.

Directly teaching the classes, Math teacher Trần Huy Toàn and his colleagues are currently balancing the completion of the Grade 12 curriculum with intensive exam coaching. He focuses on building lesson plans that strictly follow the exam structure set by the Ministry of Education and Training while referencing high-quality exercises from various sources. Reflecting on the 2025 results and recent mock exams, Trần Huy Toàn observed that students often lose points in geometry, probability, and the newer true-false or short-answer question formats. Consequently, he is prioritizing detailed lectures and supplementary exercises in these specific areas to help students hone their skills before the important exam.

The academic atmosphere among seniors has become notably more intense. Student Nguyễn Trang Hà Nhi from class 12C1 shared that she is currently focusing on her exam subjects, including Mathematics, Literature, English, and Chemistry, to target the D01 and D07 university admission blocks. She follows a strategy of consolidating knowledge as she goes while practicing with past papers. Recently, Nhi participated in a mock exam organized by the school and a competency assessment at a prestigious university. She expressed that she is now fully “in the loop” of the review process, arranging a scientific home-study schedule for each subject. Mock testing has helped her experience the pressure of the exam room and identify her “weak spots,” particularly in geometry and reading comprehension, which she is now working hard to improve.

Similarly, Mường Chà High School has synchronized its teaching and review activities for 188 seniors. The school is aiming for a 100% graduation rate, with 30-40% of students heading to university, while striving to increase the average score compared to previous years. To realize these goals, the school maintains a schedule of two sessions per day; afternoons are dedicated to review sessions, and boarding students participate in self-study at the school from 7:30PM to 10:30PM. All review activities are provided free of charge by teachers, driven by a sense of responsibility and companionship with the students.

Principal Vũ Trọng Vinh stated that the school has already conducted two rounds of mock exams for the 12th grade. By analyzing these results, the school has adjusted its teaching plans, supplemented weak skills, and classified students by ability to provide appropriate support and tutoring. The school also organized thematic workshops to discuss solutions for improving review quality and strengthening coordination with families to manage the students’ study and rest time effectively.

The 2026 High School Graduation Exam is expected to remain largely unchanged in format, though it will take place approximately two weeks earlier than in previous years. Faced with this reality, schools are proactively accelerating their teaching and review progress. Through the initiative of schools, teachers, and individual students, the preparation is being carried out methodically and seriously, providing a solid foundation for achieving authentic results that reflect the true quality of education in the province.
