Everyone should have a cozy Tết

ĐBP - In the days nearing the 2026 Lunar New Year, a bustling and excited atmosphere is spreading throughout villages and streets. For poor households and workers in difficult circumstances, the timely care and sharing through Tết gifts from all levels, branches, and socio-political organizations bring faith and the warmth of a meaningful spring.

Joy and excitement are the emotions of Lường Văn Sương from Cha Nọ village, Búng Lao commune, when receiving a Tết gift presented by the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of the province along with monks, nuns, Buddhists, and benefactors on January 26. To Lường Văn Sương, the gift is practical concern and a source of spiritual encouragement for the family to have more conditions to enjoy the spring and welcome Tết. He shared that his family is among the difficult ones in the village, with income mainly depending on upland farming. As both husband and wife are elderly with limited health, taking care of daily life is very hard, especially every time Tết arrives. Every year, his family always receives attention from the local party committee and authorities. This year, being able to receive an additional Tết gift from the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha truly moved him, as this concern adds joy and encourages the family to welcome Spring with a more excited spirit.

Thích Đức Thiện, a National Assembly deputy of the province and Vice President and General Secretary of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, along with leaders of Búng Lao commune, presents Tết gifts to the poor.

Many social security activities are being implemented by departments, agencies, and units for the 2026 Lunar New Year. Implementing the campaign “Each organization and each individual associated with a humanitarian address,” from January 28 to 30, through the provincial Red Cross Society, the Thiện Tâm Fund (Vingroup) sponsored nearly 6,000 Tết gifts with a total value of over VND 3.5 billion for poor households and families in difficult circumstances in 21 communes across the province. Đặng Xuân Vịnh, the President of the provincial Red Cross Society, stated that the gifts were presented promptly and to the right subjects, reflecting the concern and companionship of organizations, businesses, and the whole society toward people facing difficulties. This is a practical source of encouragement, helping people reduce worries and gain more confidence to stabilize their lives while affirming the bridge role of the Red Cross in social security work.

Representing, caring for, and protecting the legal and legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers, the provincial Labor Federation has implemented many support programs for union members and workers in difficult circumstances as Tết approaches. Highlighted is the “Gathering Tết - Spring Grateful to the Party” program organized on February 2, creating a joyful and warm atmosphere to help workers feel secure in staying with their agencies, businesses, and trade union organizations. At the program, the provincial Labor Federation presented 100 Tết gifts, each worth VND 1.3 million, to union members and workers in especially difficult circumstances; supported bus ticket money for 100 members and workers to return home for Tết at a level of VND 500,000 per person, along with many discount shopping vouchers at the Union Tết Market. Tẩn Minh Long, the President of the provincial Labor Federation, said that through these gifts, the trade union organization hopes that union members and workers in the province can welcome Tết in a joyful and warm atmosphere, gaining more motivation to overcome difficulties and successfully complete assigned tasks, promoting the province’s socio-economic development.

Desiring that every person and every home can welcome a peaceful and happy Tết, the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee has built a plan to visit and present gifts for the 2026 Lunar New Year. From the Central “Fund for the Poor,” the province expects to receive and allocate 300 gift portions to be presented to the poor, poor households, near-poor households, people in especially difficult circumstances, and people in areas affected by natural disasters, with each gift consisting of VND 1 million in cash and a gift. The provincial Fund for the Poor is expected to present 1,100 gifts, each worth VND 500,000, prioritizing poor households, near-poor households, and people in especially difficult circumstances in remote, distant, border communes, and areas affected by rain and floods. In addition to existing funds, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels continues to coordinate with organizations, businesses, and benefactors inside and outside the province to mobilize socialized resources, ensuring that support is implemented promptly and for the right subjects, avoiding duplication or omission.

Caring for Tết for poor and near-poor households and families in difficult circumstances is an affirmation of the spirit of solidarity and the traditional “mutual affection and mutual love” of the Vietnamese nation. Although Tết gifts vary in value, they all convey affection, responsibility, and deep sharing, bringing joy and hope to the recipients. Each gift given contributes more warmth to the Tết holiday and sends wishes for a peaceful, prosperous new year full of faith and luck.

Implementing Resolution No.418/NQ-CP of the Government on presenting gifts from the Party and the State on the occasion of welcoming the 14th National Party Congress and the 2026 Lunar New Year, Điện Biên has 37,806 individuals who are people with meritorious services to the revolution, social protection subjects, social pensioners, vulnerable subjects, and orphans receiving gifts at a level of VND 400,000 per person, with a total implementation budget of over VND 15.12 billion. The payment was organized simultaneously in communes and wards on December 31, 2025, and January 1, 2026, contributing to timely encouragement and helping people feel secure to welcome Tết and enjoy the spring.
