Right from the first days of the 2026 summer vacation, a children’s swimming class in Quài Tở commune, organized by the commune’s General Service Center, opened on June 2. Currently, the class maintains a regular schedule throughout the week with two morning and afternoon shifts, attracting 20 students.
Vàng A Dia, an official at the commune’s General Service Center in charge of the class, affirmed that the course brings dual benefits to children, namely physical training and equipping them with survival skills for drowning prevention. The center has coordinated with specialized teachers to guide the children from the most basic skills to ensure safety throughout the learning process.
Lường Thiện Nhân, born in 2018, a student in the class, excitedly shared: “I am very happy to learn swimming this summer. I will study seriously to swim soon, protect myself when exposed to aquatic environments, and gain a useful skill in life.”
In Mường Ảng commune, a badminton talent class for children aged 8 to 16 opened on June 8. More than 20 students attend the class on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons every week.
According to Trần Minh Thành, who directly instructs the class, after the first four sessions, the students became familiar with the basic skills of badminton. Since most of them are approaching the sport for the first time, the lessons focus on how to hold the racket, ready positions, warm-up movements, serving techniques, and footwork on the court. Equipping them with foundational knowledge from the start helps minimize the risk of injury during practice.
Despite being implemented for only a short time, the students are all excited to learn in a structured environment with direct guidance. Trần Minh Thành noted that besides imparting techniques, the class aims to build a habit of regular physical exercise, a sense of discipline, and self-confidence for the children in their studies and daily lives.
Meanwhile, in Sam Mứn commune, summer talent classes are becoming a familiar destination for many local students. Since the beginning of June, the commune’s General Service Center has organized chess and badminton classes for children aged 9 to 15, attracting over 30 participants. Every morning, the sports gymnasium is bustling with laughter, lively chess games, and exciting badminton practice sessions.
Notably, all classes are organized free of charge and directly instructed by the staff of the commune’s General Service Center, giving local students the opportunity to access talent activities right in their home locality.
Nguyễn Thị Vui, residing in Village 1, who has a grandchild participating in both classes, shared: “In the past, the children wanted to attend talent classes but traveling was quite inconvenient. Now, participating in classes right in the locality provides them with a useful playground and skill training during the summer. The family also feels much more at peace knowing the children have a safe, healthy collective environment.”
Lê Ngọc Hoàn, Vice Chairman of the Sam Mứn commune People’s Committee, added: “Organizing talent classes has contributed to caring for the cultural and spiritual lives of children and youth, creating a safe environment for them to interact, practice, and develop their gifts. This shapes a secure playground for children, helping parents feel secure in their labor and production.”
Summer is a time for young children to rest and play after a year of diligent study. Through the organized talent classes, children in many localities across the province gain more opportunities to experience, explore, and develop themselves. This is a meaningful gift that gives children in rural areas of the province extra opportunities to learn, play, and develop comprehensively.
