According to data updated to this point, the 2026 high school graduation exam in the province has 8,044 registered candidates, including 1,028 independent candidates. The entire province is organizing 27 official exam sites and 18 backup sites located at high schools, with an expected arrangement of 358 exam rooms. To serve the exam, the Education and Training sector plans to mobilize 1,522 invigilators, 150 examiners, 50 people participating in other stages of the exam, and 74 inspection officers. The high school graduation exam holds special significance for 12th-grade students, serving both as a basis for graduation recognition and for university and college admissions. Therefore, at this time, along with preparing the conditions for organizing the exam, reviewing for students is being urgently and strictly focused on by schools.
This year, the exam has many notable new points, such as: amending regulations related to inspections; carrying out inspections at all stages; expanding the list of foreign language certificates exempted from the exam; readjusting some regulations and procedures for organizing the exam to be more suitable; integrating the exam notice with the exam card; integrating the exam result certificate with the temporary graduation certificate; shortening the time for re-evaluation and approval of exam results; and strengthening the application of information technology in organizing the exam.
Besides the new points, some arising issues in this year’s exam are that the exam time is about two weeks earlier than the previous year, while the organization time is close to the 10th-grade high school entrance exam, so the preparation work must be extremely urgent. Along with that, the number of independent candidates increased by more than 300 compared to 2025, creating more pressure in arranging exam rooms.
On the other hand, the exam takes place in the context of implementing the two-level local government model, with no district-level People’s Committee. This requires the Education and Training sector to be more proactive in coordinating with communes and wards where exam sites are located to ensure the conditions for organizing the exam.
Hoàng Tuyết Ban, Director of the Department of Education and Training, stated: To best prepare for the exam and promptly handle arising issues, the Department has focused on carefully studying the Exam Regulations and the directive and guiding documents of the Ministry of Education and Training, the provincial People’s Committee, and the Exam Steering Committee to outline the tasks that need attention for implementation. In which, it focuses on building plans and organizing implementation to ensure progress and work quality; and strengthening information exchange between the Department and commune-level People’s Committees to unify coordination contents. In particular, the Department directs high schools and vocational education - continuing education centers to complete educational plans and organize reviews closely following the required outcomes of the general education program and the format structure of the high school graduation exam, while strictly implementing the testing and evaluation of students.
Accordingly, the review is not carried out in a widespread, superficial manner but focuses on classifying student groups, clearly identifying the group of students at risk of not meeting graduation requirements to have appropriate support solutions. The Department has organized a mock high school graduation exam for 2026 to help students get used to the structure and format of the test, practice test-taking skills, and help schools analyze results to adjust review plans accordingly...
At Tuần Giáo High School, the review atmosphere in preparation for the 2026 high school graduation exam is taking place urgently in all 12th-grade classes. The school has nearly 300 students participating in the graduation exam review. Nguyễn Anh Quân, Vice Principal of Tuần Giáo High School, shared: The school proactively built a review plan right from the beginning of the school year under the motto “review as you learn.” Depending on the student group, the school has an appropriate review plan. Study time is reasonably arranged, with official learning in the morning and review sessions in the afternoon; after each session, a quick 20 - 30 minute test is conducted to evaluate students’ knowledge acquisition and teachers’ teaching. The school has organized mock exams to promptly adjust and supplement the review plan in the right direction, suitable to the school’s actual conditions, and established a separate support, review, and tutoring group for students at risk of failing graduation...
Besides professional work, preparing the conditions to serve the exam is also being urgently implemented by the Education and Training sector and localities. Through review, the exam sites have basically completed the preparation of facilities, exam rooms, electricity and water systems, equipment, stationery, and safety assurance plans for the exam. The sector is also coordinating with relevant units to ensure security and order, protect exam papers and tests, ensure power supply, and provide health care for invigilators and candidates...
With proactive and synchronous preparation and the high sense of responsibility of the entire Education and Training sector, along with the close coordination of all levels and branches, it is believed that the 2026 high school graduation exam in the province will take place safely, strictly, objectively, and achieve high results.
