Nguyễn Duy Phương, Deputy Director in charge of the Điện Biên provincial Employment Service Center, stated that immediately after the national job exchange floor (https://www.vieclam.gov.vn) was officially launched, the Center stepped up dissemination and guided laborers to access and update information on the platform. This digital platform connects workers, enterprises, employment service organizations, and state management agencies, thereby contributing to building a modern, transparent, flexible, and efficient labor market.
When registering information on the national job exchange floor, enterprises and laborers nationwide are connected with each other. The updated data ensures official, legal, and transparent features, closely reflecting labor market fluctuations in real time. Thanks to this, workers can mitigate risks from unauthorized job brokerage activities while cutting costs and saving time during the job search and recruitment process. In addition, the centralized data system supports management agencies in forecasting human resource demands and regulating the labor market, thereby formulating vocational training, employment, and social welfare policies that match reality.
Quàng Thị Diện from Sái Lương village, Núa Ngam commune, shared that she used to work in the lowlands through acquaintances’ introductions, but the jobs were not truly suitable. Recently, upon coming to the Provincial Employment Service Center, she received counseling and guidance from officials to register an account and look for jobs on the national job exchange floor. “The platform provides full information on recruitment units with diverse occupations, not only within the province but also nationwide. I hope to soon find a stable job that suits my capability,” Quàng Thị Diện said.
Reality shows that given the characteristics of a mountainous province where laborers’ access to information remains limited, the application of digital platforms in connecting labor supply and demand is gradually becoming a suitable direction. Difficulties regarding geographical distance, travel costs, or the lack of clear recruitment information are being step-by-step overcomed.
Acting as the core unit in connecting the labor market, the provincial Employment Service Center has recently accelerated the application of digital technology in its professional operations. From organizing online job transaction sessions to connecting with digital recruitment platforms, the Center deploys various flexible formats such as hosting job fairs, conducting combined in-person and online transaction sessions, and holding mobile job conferences at the grassroots level. Concurrently, it focuses on bringing recruitment information directly to villages and hamlets, especially in remote and isolated areas, helping workers access official information in the fastest manner.
Along with that, to optimize the connection of labor supply and demand, opening up stable and quality job opportunities for local laborers, the Center maintains the organization of online job transaction sessions every Tuesday and Thursday. Here, workers can participate in direct interviews with enterprises via the internet, thereby significantly saving costs and time.
Nông Huy Thiêm, an official at the Professional Division of the Provincial Employment Service Center, stated that the Center acts as the main hub, organizing online interview rooms fully equipped with computers, cameras, microphones, and high-speed internet connections. Before each transaction session, the Center proactively works with enterprises inside and outside the province to aggregate recruitment demands, including quantity, positions, salary levels, and job requirements. When a worker finds a suitable position, the Center’s officials support them in completing online profiles and guide them through the next steps to participate in recruitment.
Since the beginning of the year, the Center has disseminated, provided information, and offered job counseling to nearly 5,000 turns of laborers. Concurrently, it organized 24 online job transaction sessions, connecting with 35 enterprises inside and outside the province, focusing on the group of workers receiving unemployment benefits and unemployed laborers. Through counseling and introduction activities, 595 workers have been connected to units and enterprises for interviews, within which 492 laborers secured jobs at companies inside and outside the province.
The application of digital technology in connecting labor supply and demand has contributed to helping workers access job information more conveniently and timely, while supporting enterprises in recruitment work. However, for this platform to maximize its efficiency, quite a few challenges remain, such as the limited information technology literacy of a segment of workers, unstable internet infrastructure in certain remote and isolated areas, and the still common habit of looking for jobs through traditional methods.
To make connecting labor supply and demand through digital platforms achieve practical efficiency, disseminating and guiding workers to access and use digital utilities, step-by-step perfecting technological infrastructure, and improving the quality of information on the system are urgent requirements. Besides the role of state management agencies, the proactivity of enterprises in providing and updating full and accurate recruitment information is highly needed. Workers also need to change their approach and become more proactive in job seeking.
