This year, more than 7,700 candidates across the province are expected to sit for the graduation exam at 27 official testing sites. Many students from remote and disadvantaged mountainous areas still face significant challenges related to transportation, accommodation, and exam preparation expenses. Therefore, various exam season support activities have been carefully prepared to provide students with the best possible assistance before and during the examination period.
At Quài Tở Secondary and High School, support for disadvantaged students was implemented early. The school coordinated efforts to review and compile lists of students in need and provide financial assistance to 12th-grade students facing difficulties. The Việt Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Điện Biên province supported 35 students, while the Fatherland Front Committee of Quài Tở commune presented gifts to 20 students. Teachers, staff, and school employees also contributed support for six disadvantaged students, each receiving VND 300,000. As a result, all students identified as facing hardship received encouragement gifts ahead of the exam.
At the same time, the school developed a plan for the “Exam season support” program during the official examination days to assist 147 grade 12 students and around 30 independent candidates taking the exam at the school’s testing site. Students are expected to receive free breakfast at school, while those from distant areas or staying in boarding facilities who wish to remain on campus during lunchtime will be provided meals and resting areas before afternoon exam sessions. Around 100 meal portions are being prepared for each session.
A new feature of this year’s graduation exam is the implementation of Resolution No. 13/2025/NQ-HDND issued by the provincial People’s Council regarding support for ethnic minority boarding students, semi-boarding students, and final-year semi-boarding learners during the exam review period. Thanks to this policy, more than 30 final-year semi-boarding students at the school will receive meal support from early June until the end of the examination period.
Hoàng Xuân Bình, Principal of Quài Tở Secondary and High School, said: “In previous years, after the school year ended, parents and teachers had to contribute money themselves to maintain meals for students during the review period. For many mountainous families, this was a significant expense. This year, thanks to the province’s support policy, parents’ financial burdens have been eased, allowing students to focus on studying with peace of mind. The school is continuing to coordinate with organizations and local groups to prepare the best possible conditions for students during the exam days so they will not have to worry about accommodation or transportation.”
For students, timely support serves as a great source of encouragement and motivation. Cà Thị Quân, a student from class 12C2, shared: “The support gifts may not be large, but they are meaningful encouragement that motivates us to work harder for the upcoming exam. I understand that behind me are my family, teachers, and many others who care about and support us. I will do my best to achieve good results and live up to their expectations.”
At Phan Đình Giót High School in Điện Biên Phủ ward, the “Exam season support” program was launched in late April with the participation of many local organizations. During the launch event, the school received VND 47 million to support activities serving candidates and the examination. According to the plan, the funding will be used to provide free drinking water, meals, and encouragement for disadvantaged students at the school’s testing site.
Currently, the school and its Youth Union continue to mobilize support from agencies, businesses, benefactors, and the wider community to strengthen resources for students during the exam season.
Hà Thị Thu Trang, Secretary of the Youth Union at Phan Đình Giót High School, said: “Most final-year students at our school come from remote areas, and many belong to poor or near-poor households, so their study and living conditions remain difficult. Therefore, the “Exam season support” program not only provides material assistance but also offers emotional encouragement during this important examination period. We hope students will feel the care and support of the community, helping them become more confident, calm, and determined to overcome the exam.”
Accompanying students throughout the exam season, the Việt Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Điện Biên province presented 619 gifts to disadvantaged students participating in the 2026 National High School Graduation Examination through the provincial “For the poor” Fund. These gifts carried meaningful encouragement and helped strengthen the confidence of many students in mountainous areas.
Through the joint efforts of schools, organizations, individuals, and the community, this year’s exam season in Điện Biên continues to spread a spirit of solidarity and compassion. Early and thoughtful preparation not only helps improve students’ living and learning conditions but also gives them greater confidence as they enter one of the most important examinations of their lives.
