Across construction sites, manpower and machinery have been mobilized to the maximum, with work items executed on a rolling, concurrent basis, striving to complete, hand over, and put the works into service according to set schedules.
In early October, the construction site of the Mường Pồn Primary and Secondary Ethnic Boarding Inter-School (Mường Pồn commune) maintained a relentless, pressing tempo. The hum of excavators and bulldozers, alongside the rumble of haul trucks carrying construction materials, echoed continuously. Across an area of approximately 6.5ha, the school’s structural components are steadily taking shape.
Commencing at the end of March 2026, the project represents a total investment capital of VND 275 billion, meeting concentrated studying and boarding accommodation needs for roughly 1,085 students. The complex includes classroom blocks, student dormitory zones, a dining hall, collective kitchen, official residences for teachers, a multi-purpose gymnasium integrated with a swimming pool, administrative and principal offices, a library, and auxiliary facilities.
Immediately after project groundbreaking, the Party Committee and authorities of Mường Pồn commune focused on outreach and mobilization, forging strong consensus throughout site clearance. Within a brief timeframe, the entire cleared land site was handed over to the contractor. With clean site possession, the contractor concentrated resources on construction.
Nguyễn Văn Vui, Chief Site Engineer from Nam Thành Construction Investment Joint Stock Company, stated: “The company maintains nearly 200 workers regularly on the construction site. Eight excavators, three bulldozers, three road rollers, and two tower cranes have been mobilized for execution. Rather than waiting for one section to finish before shifting to the next, teams are deployed simultaneously. Tower cranes were brought into operation to shorten transportation times for building materials and precast elements, while mechanized equipment has been reinforced to expedite site grading and structural work.”
To date, site grading volume has reached approximately 90%, and realized value exceeds 20% of the contract value. The contractor targets completing the entire structural rough-in before November 30, 2026, and handing over the facility before June 30, 2027 - around two months ahead of schedule.
Similarly, at the construction site of the Na Sang Primary and Secondary Ethnic Boarding Inter-School (Na Sang commune), numerous structural blocks have begun to outline their forms. The project spans 5.4ha with a total investment capital of VND 275 billion, featuring a large-scale layout comprising multi-level classroom blocks, student boarding quarters, teacher official residences, a communal dining hall and kitchen, an administrative management quarter, a library, sports fields, a swimming pool, and synchronized technical infrastructure systems.
During the initial deployment phase, the project encountered several bottlenecks in site clearance. However, thanks to the proactive involvement of local Party committees and authorities and public consensus, obstacles were disentangled, and the entire site was handed over to the contractor. The construction site subsequently shifted into high gear. The contractor maintains around 320 laborers divided into eight teams, operating machinery and transport vehicles non-stop. Work items are rolled out concurrently, adhering strictly to the critical path. To date, site grading is 100% complete; 11 building items have finished foundation pouring; four items have basically completed the first floor and are erecting second-floor columns.
“The contractor identifies this as a key provincial project, requiring maximum concentration of personnel and machinery, organized along scientific methods without allowing disruptions. The goal is to complete 100% of the structural rough-in before Lunar New Year 2027, then focus on finishing touches to hand over the works prior to June 30, 2027,” shared Nguyễn Văn Mạnh, Chief Site Engineer from the Nam Thành Construction Investment Joint Stock Company.
To meet the set target, alongside pooling labor and equipment, the contractor has proactively devised material procurement plans. According to Mạnh, the company has placed orders with suppliers to ensure adequate sources of bricks, sand, rebar, steel, and cement, curbing shortages that could interrupt construction and jeopardize progress.
Both the primary and Secondary ethnic boarding inter-schools in Mường Pồn and Na Sang communes are invested in by the provincial Police. To guarantee progress, construction quality, and investment efficacy, the provincial Police have directed relevant units to maintain close oversight on site, promptly resolving emerging difficulties. Given the unique challenges of highland topography, complex weather patterns, and localized labor shortages, which can directly affect progress, the provincial Police have instructed contractors to proactively manage personnel, machinery, and materials; organize construction adapted to real-world conditions; capitalize on favorable weather; and strictly enforce quality control and occupational safety.
Following the initial 10 completed schools already brought into service, the remaining five ethnic boarding inter-schools are seeing concentrated provincial resources to cross the finish line as planned. These emerging schools represent not only material infrastructure, but also the concretization of the Party and State’s policy caring for and creating superior educational conditions for border students. When Party committees, administrations, project owners, contractors, and local communities share a collective sense of responsibility, every bottleneck is resolved, and every milestone is accelerated. These inter-schools are steadily being perfected, providing a robust foundation for highland pupils to study and live in spacious, secure, modern campuses that satisfy the requirements of educational development in the new era.
