Điện Biên Phủ Victory honoured in special art programme

ĐBP - A special art programme themed “Điện Biên Phủ - Mốc vàng lịch sử” (Điện Biên Phủ – A historical golden milestone) was held in the northwestern province of Điện Biên on Monday evening in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Điện Biên Phủ Victory (May 7, 1954-2024).

The programme was also broadcast live on Vietnam Television’s VTV1 channel, according to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính attended the programme alongside acting President Võ Thị Ánh Xuân, a Permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat and Chairwoman of the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission Trương Thị Mai, and the Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Trần Thanh Mẫn.

It was also attended by many incumbent and former officials, international guests, and local people.

Representing Điện Biên Province was Trần Quốc Cường, member of the Party Central Committee and provincial Party Secretary, joined by other provincial leaders and other organisations.

Inaugurating the programme, minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyễn Văn Hùng emphasised its aim to connect the past, present, and future. It depicted an era of national unity in response to the Party's call to action, crafting the epic of the 20th century - the glorious victory of Điện Biên Phủ, a milestone in the nation's history, resonating globally.

Through artistic performances, the programme reaffirmed that 70 years after the victory, Điện Biên, and Việt Nam as a whole, have flourished across all fields, becoming symbols of humanity, wisdom, and peace worldwide.

With meticulous planning, the art programme also seamlessly integrated meaningful documentaries alongside artistic performances, affirming the value and grand historical significance of the Điện Biên Phủ Victory.

Through visuals and performances, the pivotal moments of the Điện Biên Phủ Campaign were brought to life: the unified national resistance, the logistical support from diverse ethnic groups, and the struggles endured to secure territory.

Additionally, contemporary Điện Biên's cultural diversity was showcased, portraying it as a symbol of peace and hope for the future.

Lasting 90 minutes, "Điện Biên Phủ – A historical golden milestone" was an inspiring art programme, evoking national pride and unity.

It emphasised the importance of understanding history, honoring sacrifices, and contributing to the nation's development. The programme ended with a breathtaking fireworks display, leaving a lasting impact.

The programme features outstanding performances that evoke love and pride for the nation.

The image of the flag with the slogan "Determined to Fight, Determined to Win" recalls the glorious history of the Điện Biên Phủ Campaign.

The bicycles carrying goods is an iconic image, symbolising historical feats and closely associated with the campaign.

The programme brings numerous magnificent performances, exuding the national spirit.
