Na Son arouses spirit of self-reliance and self-improvement

ĐBP - Na Son commune was established based on the merger of Na Son commune, Keo Lôm commune, and Điện Biên Đông town. After the merger, Na Son commune still faces many difficulties: An asynchronous infrastructure, a high poverty rate, and continuous natural disasters... But it is precisely in these hardships that the spirit of studying and following President Hồ Chí Minh’s ideology, ethics, and style has become a spiritual anchor, creating the strength of solidarity and the aspiration for change.

Learning from President Hồ Chí Minh through specific actions, Na Son commune has gradually translated resolutions into concrete actions, arousing the spirit of self-reliance and self-improvement in every official, Party member, and resident.

Facing major challenges after the merger and the impact of natural disasters, the Party Committee, government, and people of Na Son commune have remained persistent and patient in overcoming difficulties and rising up. Currently, the average per capita income reaches over VND 44 million, an increase of nearly VND 10 million compared to 2020. The economic structure has clearly shifted.

In economic development, Na Son commune learns from President Hồ Chí Minh’s spirit of “diligence, thrift, and creativity,” viewing it as a motto for action. Officials and Party members lead the way in transforming crop structures and applying science and technology. On vast hillsides, over 1,000 hectares of macadamia, coffee, and fruit trees, along with various crops such as peanuts and beans, show the right direction for commodity agriculture, including the OCOP product “Na Son red peanut,” which contributes to raising people’s income.

Officials and public employees of the Na Son commune Public Administration Service Center resolve administrative procedures for residents.

The natural disaster at the end of July and beginning of August 2025 caused damage exceeding VND 300 billion, and hundreds of households in the commune were affected, but “no one was left behind.” The Party Committee and government reviewed every village and household to provide timely support. Immediately after the disaster, the commune Party Committee issued Resolution No.05-NQ/ĐU dated August 15, 2025, promoting chili cultivation on paddy fields buried by floods, a decisive action clearly demonstrating the spirit of “turning danger into opportunity,” turning hardship into motivation. To date, 7 villages have registered 11.24 hectares of winter chili cultivation, opening up a new production direction suitable for post-flood conditions.

Putting words into action, and doing what benefits the people to the utmost, based on this awareness, the commune focuses on leading and directing the implementation of 3 national target programs: Socio-economic development for ethnic minority and mountainous areas, sustainable poverty reduction, and new-style rural area construction. To date, Na Son has achieved 13/19 new-style rural area criteria; 100% of villages and residential groups have access to the national power grid; and the system of transport, irrigation, and domestic water supply has been invested in and upgraded. The average poverty rate has decreased by 5.47% per year.

In carrying out the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households, Na Son commune established a steering committee, which directly guided, mobilized forces, and campaigned for social resources to jointly provide support. In the commune, 101 houses were approved for support; 99 have been completed, 1 is under construction, and 1 has not yet been implemented. The commune coordinated with the provincial Military Command and the Defensive Area Command No.3 to rebuild 6 completely swept away or collapsed houses and repair 110 heavily damaged houses due to the natural disaster. The new, spacious, and sturdy houses rising in the flood-affected area are proof of the spirit of “Learning from President Hồ Chí Minh to act for the people,” affirming the companionship of the Party and government with the people in times of difficulty.

For officials and Party members, studying and following President Hồ Chí Minh is concretized by the standard of public service ethics: devotion, closeness to the people, and putting words into action. The commune Party Committee directed the development of a specialized theme on learning from President Hồ Chí Minh associated with the political tasks and the breakthrough phase of each sector. Officials at the Public Administration Service Center uphold the spirit of service, resolving administrative procedures quickly and correctly according to regulations; mass organizations launch emulation movements such as “Skilled Mass Mobilization,” “Saturday for the People,” supporting road construction, house repair, and helping poor households develop their economy...

Na Son is gradually rising and flourishing. This result is thanks to the fact that every policy and action is based on studying and following President Hồ Chí Minh’s teachings. From ensuring employment and income for the people; children getting educated; the poor having housing; villages having electricity and roads; and the people living in solidarity and affection.

Secretary of the Na Son commune Party Committee Trần Thanh Kiên shared: “Learning from President Hồ Chí Minh is not something distant, but rather transforming his teachings into action every day. Every official and Party member must be a shining example in work, conduct, and lifestyle so that the people trust and follow.”

From this spirit, the movement to study and follow President Hồ Chí Minh in Na Son has become an endogenous driving force promoting development in all aspects. Although many difficulties and challenges still lie ahead, with the tradition of solidarity, faith, and the will to rise up, the Na Son commune Party Committee and people continue to follow President Hồ Chí Minh through concrete actions, building Na Son to be increasingly developed and sustainable.
