Making every vote count: Điện Biên intensifies public outreach for upcoming elections

ĐBP - To ensure that the election of the 16th tenure National Assembly deputies and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term truly becomes a festival of the people, Điện Biên province has been intensifying communication efforts targeting all community groups.

The outreach campaign is being carried out widely to ensure every voter clearly understands their rights and responsibilities, enabling them to make informed choices and elect qualified, capable representatives.

The provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Information and Education and Mass Mobilization have issued Guidance No.46-HD/BTGDVTU to expand communication efforts and build strong consensus in political awareness and action, contributing to the successful organization of the upcoming elections. The goal is to ensure elections that are democratic, equitable, lawful, safe, cost-effective, and genuinely a celebration of the people, while strengthening public trust in the Party, the State, and the national reform agenda.

Communication activities closely follow the political and ideological guidelines set out by the provincial Party Committee, ensuring consistency, continuity, focus, and effectiveness. The campaign highlights the significance of the election and its context: the ongoing restructuring of the political system toward a more streamlined and efficient two-tier local government model. It also underscores the historic achievements the country has made over 40 years of renovation under the Party’s leadership, as the entire nation continues to unite, overcome challenges, and pursue rapid, sustainable development.

Civil servants from the Office of the provincial National Assembly Delegation and the People’s Council disseminate election information on an official website.

The outreach also emphasizes grasping the Party’s leadership principles and the State’s legal framework related to the elections, particularly documents issued by the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Prime Minister, and the National Election Council. Communication materials focus on updates to the election administration process, ensuring alignment with the fundamental principles of the socialist rule-of-law state as defined by the 2013 Constitution, the coherence of the legal system, and the country’s socio-economic conditions and international integration.

Special attention is given to clarifying the responsibilities of Party committees and authorities at all levels in personnel preparation, promoting democracy while ensuring unified Party leadership over cadre work. This includes aligning outcomes of the 2025-2030 Party congresses at all levels and the 14th National Party Congress with the planning and nomination of candidates for the National Assembly and People’s Councils.

Communication activities are being carried out before, during, and after election day through diverse forms: news outlets, websites of provincial departments and organizations, digital platforms, and social media (Facebook, Zalo, YouTube). Outdoor visual communication-such as banners, posters, and billboards-is also being deployed across administrative centers and public spaces.

Hồ A Páo, Vice Chairman of Nà Bủng commune, said the commune views election communication as a key task. It has developed detailed plans, assigned responsibilities to each department and village, and disseminates information through loudspeaker systems, community meetings, and visual communication tools. These efforts help residents understand the voting schedule, procedures, and their rights and obligations as voters, thereby strengthening public awareness and fostering unity and enthusiasm for the upcoming election.

With strong political determination, Điện Biên province is rolling out comprehensive election communication measures to ensure a successful, democratic, and lawful election, one that truly becomes a major public event for all citizens.
