ĐBP - On May 11, the fourth meeting of the Central Steering Committee for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide was held, chaired by Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính, Head of the Steering Committee. The meeting was conducted online, connecting to the headquarters of the People’s Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities.

ĐBP - In preparation for the Party congresses at all levels for the term 2025-2030, youths of Điện Biên province have been actively promoting awareness, especially highlighting the dynamic and voluntary role of young people. Many meaningful and effective projects and initiatives have been implemented, suited to the local conditions.

ĐBP - On the morning of May 8, the people’s committee of Điện Biên province and Thái Nguyên University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a branch of Thái Nguyên University in Điện Biên.

ĐBP - The Party congress of the Project Management Board for Civil and Industrial Works of Điện Biên province for the second term (2025-2030) is scheduled to take place in mid-May. To ensure the success of the event, the agency’s Party Committee has been focusing on completing all preparatory work, including documents, personnel, material conditions, and communications.

ĐBP - More than seven decades have passed since the decisive battle that sealed the fate of French colonialism in Indochina, yet the memories of 56 days and nights of “digging into mountains, sleeping in trenches, enduring the rain, eating dry rice, blood mixing with mud” remain vivid in the minds of the Điện Biên soldiers of the past. For veterans Bùi Kim Điều and Phạm Đức Cư, two living witnesses of the Điện Biên Phủ Campaign, that past has never faded.

ĐBP - On the land that marked the “famous victory that shook the world,” the youth of Điện Biên are continuing the path paved by their ancestors with deep pride and a strong aspiration to rise. In the rhythm of Điện Biên province that is changing day by day, the spirit of Điện Biên Phủ remains a sacred flame that fosters the will, love for the country, and responsibility of the younger generation for their homeland and the nation.

ĐBP -  Although President Hồ Chí Minh passed away 56 years ago, his image and the stories about him still reside deeply in the hearts of people of Điện Biên province in particular, and of all ethnic communities in the Northwestern region in general. Every May, as his birthday approaches, thousands of hearts stir with sacred reverence and infinite gratitude, renewing their vow to follow his teachings.

ĐBP - Seventy-one years have passed, yet for Điện Biên soldiers who directly fought on the battlefield of Điện Biên Phủ, the memories of 56 days and nights of “digging into mountains, sleeping in trenches, enduring the rain, eating dry rice, blood mixing with mud” remain as vivid as ever.

ĐBP - From a land ravaged by bombs and bullets, after 71 years marked by a historic victory, Điện Biên province has undergone a remarkable transformation in all areas and has become one of the fastest-growing provinces in the northern midlands and mountainous region of Vietnam.

ĐBP -  Presidential amnesty is a profound expression of the Vietnamese Party and State’s humanitarian and tolerant policy toward prisoners who have shown sincere remorse, worked hard, and demonstrated efforts to reform during their incarceration. Being granted clemency and released before the end of a prison term is not just a legal leniency- it’s a new beginning. It opens the door to a second chance at life, where those who once strayed have the opportunity to rebuild their future with courage and hope for change.

ĐBP -  On the morning of May 5, in celebration of Vesak Day (Buddhist Calendar 2569) and the 2025 retreat season, Secretary of the Điện Biên provincial Party Committee Trần Quốc Cường, accompanied by provincial People’s Council Chairman Lò Văn Phương, Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Mùa A Vảng, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Lò Văn Cương, and representatives of various provincial departments and agencies, paid a visit to the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Điện Biên province at Linh Quang Pagoda, located in Thanh Nưa commune, Điện Biên district.

PANO - In the current period, when the whole country is implementing the policy of reorganizing and streamlining the administrative apparatus, eliminating the district level and merging the commune-level units, ensuring stability for local armed forces is now an urgent requirement. With the spirit of “always ready to fight and complete the mission in any situation,” personnel of the grassroots-level armed forces continue to maintain their positions, fulfilling their responsibilities with the courage of soldiers.

ĐBP - After five years of partnership, the relationship between Điện Biên district (Điện Biên province) and Regiment 82 (Division 355, Military Region 2) has been strengthened through specific and practical actions.

ĐBP - Recognizing the reorganization of commune-level administrative units and the establishment of a two-tier local government system as a key task, officials and residents of Tuần Giáo district, Điện Biên province have expressed strong support for the restructuring effort.

ĐBP - Half a century after the country’s reunification, Vietnam has turned the page on its war-torn past and embarked on a journey of peace and development. Throughout this journey, the image of the soldier has remained a noble symbol of resilience and patriotism. On the heroic land of Điện Biên, the dream of rebuilding from the ashes of war is still burning brightly, carried forward by veterans who continue to serve their nation with unwavering dedication.

ĐBP - No longer do residents of remote mountain villages in Na Cô Sa commune, Nậm Pồ district, Điện Biên province, need to travel to the Na Cô Sa border guard post to report suspicious activities. Nor do they need to fear revealing their identities or facing retaliation. Today, they can provide anonymous tips to authorities simply by scanning a QR code on their smartphones.

ĐBP - Though separated by thousands of kilometers at opposite ends of the country, the deep bond between Hồ Chí Minh City and Điện Biên province has been nurtured over the years by generations of leaders and citizens. This enduring solidarity is not only reflected in timely aid and mutual support during hardship, but also in meaningful acts of gratitude, social welfare, and cultural exchange.

ĐBP - As the entire country jubilantly celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, war veterans who once fought on the southern frontlines recount with pride and emotion their heroic past. Having endured war, they deeply value peace and hope younger generations will preserve and build upon this priceless legacy.

ĐBP - Though echoes of war have long since faded, the heroic spirit of the great victory in the resistance war against the U.S. remains etched deep in the hearts of the Vietnamese people. In today’s peaceful era, the indomitable will of the “Uncle Hồ’s soldiers” lives on through the Border Guard troops who steadfastly guard the frontiers of the nation, forging a solid wall of defense along the remote edges of the homeland.
