Promoting “three dares” spirit in studying and following President Hồ Chí Minh

ĐBP - The study and emulation of Hồ Chí Minh’s ideology, morality, and style in Điện Biên province are being implemented widely through practical and concrete approaches. Linked to the “three dares” spirit - daring to speak, daring to act, and daring to take responsibility- emulation movements have created positive changes among officials, Party members, and the public, contributing to more effective performance across agencies, units, and localities.

In 2026, the Điện Biên provincial Party Committee launched an emulation campaign to study and follow Hồ Chí Minh’s ideology, morality, and style under the theme: “Officials, Party members, civil servants, public employees, and workers in Điện Biên province uphold the “three dares”- daring to speak, daring to act, daring to take responsibility.” The campaign aims to drive clear improvements in mindset, working style, and professional conduct across the political system, while establishing clear standards of accountability in public service and addressing the tendency to avoid or shift responsibility mong officials. It also contributes to building a clean and strong Party organization, enhancing exemplary leadership and responsibility, especially among leaders, and fostering a cadre of capable officials who dare to think and act for the common good. Ultimately, it supports socio-economic development goals and strengthens public trust in the Party and local authorities.

From this movement, many officials and Party members have proactively renewed their thinking and approaches in both professional duties and production activities. Economic development models and the application of technical advances in production have been implemented in line with the provincial Party Committee’s resolutions on tourism development and the restructuring of agriculture toward green, smart, and sustainable practices suited to local conditions.

Sùng Thị Cở, an accountant at the Office of the People’s Council and People’s Committee of Na Son commune, not only fulfills her professional duties but also takes the lead in developing her family’s economy. In 2023, she boldly invested in planting 4 hectares of coffee, gradually restructuring crops and improving production efficiency. By 2025, her coffee plantation entered its first harvest, yielding around 15 tons and generating more than VND 200 million in profit after costs. She has also actively shared her experience in coffee cultivation and care with local households, helping them increase their income.

“For me, following Uncle Hồ begins with diligence and the courage to think and act to improve my family’s livelihood. When you take the lead and succeed, others will see the results and follow,” she said.

Beyond production, the spirit of innovation is also evident in education and training, particularly through increased application of information technology in teaching. For Phạm Quỳnh Phương, a History teacher at Pom Lót Secondary School in Sam Mứn commune, following Hồ Chí Minh means constant creativity to make lessons more engaging. She actively uses artificial intelligence tools such as ChatGPT and Google NotebookLM to compile materials, develop teaching resources, and design lesson content, helping students grasp knowledge in a more intuitive and accessible way.

She also mentors students in participating in science and technology innovation competitions organized at various levels. Many student projects applying information technology have been developed, such as an online book introducing Điện Biên’s culture and history titled “Glorious Điện Biên - Endless experience”, and a “sign language recognition software system supporting communication for the hearing impaired.”

“I believe following Uncle Hồ is not something abstract but starts from responsibility in one’s own work. In every class, I strive to present knowledge in a relatable and understandable way so students become more interested and proactive in learning history,” Phương said.

The movement to study and follow Hồ Chí Minh continues to spread widely across socio-political organizations in the province. At the provincial Women’s Union, its Standing Committee has directed all levels to integrate the movement with the campaign “Building Vietnamese women in the new era”, encouraging members to propose initiatives, implement new models, and promote responsibility in their work.

As a result, many practical models closely tied to daily life have been launched, such as the “Green house” for collecting plastic waste, campaigns promoting women’s active learning and creative labor, and the “Điện Biên women start-up” initiative. Through these movements, numerous effective economic models and community activities have been developed. The province now has 434 female directors and heads of enterprises and cooperatives, along with thousands of women engaged in successful production and business activities.

Studying and following Hồ Chí Minh’s ideology, morality, and style has become a regular practice among officials and Party members across the province. Through concrete actions in both work and daily life, the “three dares” spirit is increasingly being promoted, contributing to positive changes in task performance and affirming the practical value of following Hồ Chí Minh in the current context.
