With a high spirit of proactivity and responsibility, the local Party committee and authorities have identified this as a central political task that requires strict leadership and methodical execution, ensuring democracy and compliance with the law.
To date, Mường Tùng has established 18 election groups corresponding to 18 polling areas, ensuring they suit the local terrain and population distribution to facilitate voter participation. The process of listing, reviewing, and publicly posting voter lists has been carried out strictly. Following an administrative merger, the commune now has 5,355 voters, an increase of more than 2,000 compared to the previous election cycle. These lists are posted at all 18 polling areas, allowing residents to easily monitor, check, and report any necessary adjustments.
The consultative process for introducing candidates for the commune People’s Council has been conducted democratically and objectively. The commune has organized two consultative conferences and received 36 candidate dossiers. The candidate structure ensures diverse representation, with 77.77% being ethnic minorities, 36.11% women, 55.55% under the age of 40, and 11.11% non-Party members.
Dissemination work has been prioritized through various rich forms, focusing on the significance of the election, voter rights and obligations, and delegate standards. Local loudspeaker systems, banners, and posters have been increased at the commune center and in villages. Socio-political organizations have integrated election information into 21 meetings with over 2,500 participants. Additionally, short dissemination clips on digital platforms have attracted significant engagement.
Mùa Thanh Sơn, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council of Mường Tùng commune, stated: “We are focusing on decisive leadership and assigning specific tasks to each member of the Steering Board and Election Board. Every step follows legal regulations to ensure transparency. We are stepping up dissemination so that every voter understands their responsibility and actively participates.”
To ensure a safe election day, the commune has proactively prepared facilities. Polling stations are primarily located at village community houses; in areas without such houses, schools or suitable community meeting spots are used. Security, order, and fire safety plans have been detailed for each area.
However, Mường Tùng faces challenges due to its vast terrain and scattered population. The commune has 17 religious groups, while four villages and seven specific areas still lack access to the national power grid or mobile signal, affecting communication and dissemination. To address this, officials have been assigned to stay close to the grassroots and conduct direct face-to-face dissemination to ensure all voters are fully informed.
Despite these hurdles, Mùa Thanh Sơn added that the commune aims for a 100% voter turnout and a completely error-free election process. With the comprehensive preparation of the entire political system, Mường Tùng is creating a solid foundation for the upcoming election to be successful and safe.
