Điện Biên launches patriotic emulation movement for 2025

ĐBP - Chairman of the Điện Biên Provincial People’s Committee Lê Thành Đô recently launched the 2025 Patriotic Emulation Movement, under the theme “Discipline, Responsibility; Streamlined and Efficient; Proactive and Timely; Accelerate and Breakthrough.”

The movement aims to successfully achieve the socio-economic development targets for 2025 and the 2020-2025 term.

The movement will focus on key tasks to promote sustainable economic growth, improve people’s living standards, and ensure national defense and security in the province. It is also to fulfill the objectives set by the 14th provincial Party Congress, the socio-economic development plan for 2021-2025, and commemorate major national events and anniversaries.

A crucial goal of the movement is to enhance administrative reform, improve investment environment, and develop modern and synchronized infrastructure. The province is committed to increasing the efficiency of State management and improving the material and spiritual well-being of its residents, especially in ethnic minority and mountainous areas. Điện Biên targets a Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) growth rate of 10.5%, with per capita GRDP reaching VNĐ 53.85 million.

Other objectives include rural infrastructure development, improving new-style rural building standards, and promoting key projects in production and tourism. Special attention will be given to preserving and promoting the value of the Special National Historical Relic Site of Điện Biên Phủ Battlefield to boost cultural and historical tourism.

At the same time, the movement will focus on eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, with the goal of completing this task before December 31, 2025. The province will continue implementing sustainable poverty reduction programs while enhancing education, healthcare, and scientific research.

Technological advancements will be applied in agricultural production, particularly in One Commune, One Product (OCOP) initiatives. Additionally, the province aims to reduce the poverty rate to 17.66% and provide vocational training to 8,500 trainees.

A significant emphasis will be placed on streamlining State agencies, improving the quality of civil service workforce, and strengthening the role of political and social organizations in promoting exemplary role models.

In terms of national defense and security, the province will maintain political stability, strengthen military forces in border communes, and intensify efforts to combat crime, particularly drug-related offenses and cybercrime. External affairs will also be reinforced, especially with neighboring countries of Laos and China.

The movement underscores the importance of Party-building efforts and political system consolidation. Strengthening the Party’s leadership, cultivating a highly qualified and ethically sound workforce, and ensuring sustainable development remain key priorities.
