During the session, both parties agreed that in the past period, the two units have consistently communicated and implemented cooperation documents and protocols between the two Parties, States and armies regarding foreign affairs and defence diplomacy.

Both sides have strengthened coordination between functional forces and local authorities along the border, educating and informing the public about the border regulations.

They have worked together to ensure the success of the 4th Việt Nam-Laos Defence Policy Dialogue Conference and conducted inspections and surveys in the border areas of the three countries, including Việt Nam, Laos and China.

Both sides have enhanced information exchange, coordinated bilateral patrols to protect the border and markers, strictly controlled all cross-border activities and promptly detected and addressed issues arising at the grassroots level along the border.

In the coming time, the Military Commands of Điện Biên and Phongsaly provinces will continue to promote education about the traditional, special solidarity, trust and mutual understanding between the Parties, States and armies of the two countries, as well as the traditions of the armed forces of the two provinces.

Both sides have committed to strictly adhering to border regulations, maintaining the special friendship and solidarity between Việt Nam and Laos, building a peaceful, friendly and developed common border.

The two sides have agreed to enhancing cooperation to effectively counter the schemes of hostile forces, and preventing malicious entities from exploiting ethnic, religious, sovereignty and territorial issues to incite instability in the political and security situation along the border areas of the two provinces.
