ĐBP -  In line with Vietnam’s pledge at COP26 to achieve net zero emissions by 2050, Điện Biên province has been rolling out a wide range of measures, from expanding renewable energy and green transport to promoting circular economy practices and sustainable agriculture. These efforts not only demonstrate the province’s commitment to global climate goals but also pave the way for sustainable development that balances economic growth with environmental protection.

ĐBP - More and more farmers in Điện Biên are shifting their mindset and renewing cultivation methods to produce clean, safe agricultural products. Compared to 2024, the certified VietGAP farming area in the province has increased by 15.5 hectares; certified organic farming has expanded by 5.25 hectares; and the total certified safe farming area has grown by 17.75 hectares.

ĐBP - In these days leading up to the Mid-Autumn Festival, the local market has become vibrant. If in the past imported products dominated Mid-Autumn toys, this year consumer trends have shifted toward traditional items that embody Vietnamese cultural values.

ĐBP - At Suối Lư 2 hamlet in Na Son commune, Lò Văn Săn and his wife went to the Na Son commune Public Administration Service Center to register their marriage. After being guided by local officials, the couple learned the procedure and how to complete it quickly through the VNeID application.

ĐBP - In recent years, Điện Biên province has been implementing a range of green solutions in agriculture: improving cultivation layers for perennial crops; applying science and technology in the production of clean agricultural products; and developing smart rice-farming models to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. These approaches not only help increase crop yields and improve product quality but also open the door to building an environmentally friendly agriculture. Green farming brings double benefits - both to producers and to the community.

ĐBP - In the 2021 - 2025 period, Điện Biên expects public investment to become a “lever” for infrastructure development, socio-economic growth, and improving people’s lives.

ĐBP - Điện Biên province, the westernmost province of the country, is characterized by rugged terrain, difficult transportation, and a population whose life still faces many hardships and shortages. Yet, overcoming these challenges, local Party committees, authorities, businesses, and residents are working hand in hand to gradually reshape the border region.

ĐBP - In an effort to enhance the quality, value, and sustainability of OCOP products, Điện Biên province has launched a program to replace plastic bottles with ceramic, glass, or environmentally friendly packaging. This change not only reduces plastic waste but also creates a more appealing image, boosting the competitiveness of local products in the market. At the same time, the program encourages producers to improve production processes, build stronger brands, promote green consumption, and align OCOP products with the goals of a circular economy.

ĐBP - The electronic cooperative (e-cooperative) model is increasingly seen as a promising direction, enhancing management efficiency, product consumption, and operational transparency, while opening opportunities for small producers to join modern value chains. Promoting e-cooperatives is therefore considered a key solution for turning the private economy into a growth driver.

ĐBP - In recent years, trucks loaded with Điện Biên province’s agricultural specialties have increasingly made their way across mountain passes to major cities nationwide. At supermarkets and trade fairs, local OCOP products are reaching consumers and receiving positive feedback. By focusing on quality and packaging while actively promoting trade for OCOP and specialty products, Điện Biên is steadily expanding markets, enhancing brand value, and working toward building nationwide product linkages.

ĐBP - Every year from September, water rises in the Sơn La Hydropower reservoir within Mường Lay ward and remains high for about six months. This marks the start of a bustling season for river-based livelihoods.

ĐBP- In the drive to build new-style rural areas, farmers in Điện Biên province are taking the lead, embracing the movement “Farmers excelling in production and business, joining forces to prosper together and sustainably reduce poverty”. From practical farming models to exemplary success stories, the movement has spread widely, reshaping rural communities and improving livelihoods.

ĐBP - Wildlife farming is considered a solution to conserve valuable genetic resources while reducing illegal hunting of wild species in nature.

ĐBP - Known as the country’s “macadamia capital,” the former Tuần Giáo district once had the largest macadamia-growing area in Việt Nam, with a booming planting movement and strategic partnerships with reputable partners such as TH Group and the Vietnam Macadamia Association. After the district was dissolved and its communes merged, although cooperation agreements have not yet been officially transferred, commitments to macadamia have remained unchanged.

ĐBP - Reviewing all forest areas, reorganizing staff assignments according to new administrative boundaries, and strengthening coordination with local authorities are among the proactive measures being implemented by the provincial forest rangers to enhance forestry management under the two-tier local government model.

ĐBP - This morning (September 17), Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Lò Văn Cương inspected the model “Smart Rice Cultivation for Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction” in the Mường Thanh field.

ĐBP - In August and September, as the summer rains become less frequent, beneath the damp forest canopy, the amomum fruits turn deep red. This is the time when the people of Sính Phình harvest this multi-purpose medicinal plant.

ĐBP - In implementing the two-tier local government model, the Điện Biên provincial Forest Protection Division has reorganized its structure, reassigned personnel, arranged workplaces, reviewed the entire forested area, and strengthened coordination with local authorities to match the realities of each commune and ward when carrying out forestry tasks.

ĐBP - Across Điện Biên province, many suspension bridges built for local communities have deteriorated or been damaged, no longer ensuring safe travel or transportation. This reality requires the construction of new bridges to replace the old, unsafe ones. Investment in strong and durable bridges is essential not only to guarantee traffic safety but also to strengthen infrastructure connectivity and promote trade, particularly in remote and mountainous areas where transportation remains difficult.

ĐBP - Crop restructuring, the application of science and technology, the development of key agricultural products, clean production, and value-chain linkages are now central strategies helping Điện Biên province build a modern, sustainable agriculture, both raising farmers’ incomes and opening long-term development prospects for the province.
