ĐBP - Climate change has a significant impact on water resources and agricultural production. The investment in constructing new, repairing, and upgrading reservoir projects throughout the province has become an important and urgent task. This contributes to ensuring a stable supply of irrigation water for crops, serving the daily needs of the people, as well as promoting socio-economic development and disaster prevention.

ĐBP - Visiting Tuần Giáo commune today, one no longer sees empty plots of land, barren hills, or wild grass. Instead, there are vast, green macadamia hills stretching into the distance. The agricultural restructuring process has transformed Tuần Giáo from an arid land into a specialized industrial crop region, the province’s “macadamia capital.”

ĐBP - At the end of 2024, the honey pineapple variety was introduced for trial cultivation in Búng Lao commune on an area of nearly 50 hectares. After months of careful care, the crop has adapted and grown well, opening new prospects for local farmers in crop restructuring, income improvement, and sustainable livelihoods.

ĐBP - We arrived in Sín Chải in early October, when the local Party Committee, government, and residents were enthusiastically engaging in emulation movements to celebrate the upcoming 15th Provincial Party Congress (2025-2030 term) and the 76th anniversary of the establishment of the Điện Biên Provincial Party Committee (October 10, 1949 - 2025). New, spacious houses; clean, concrete roads stretching into villages; and schools and offices adorned with flags and flowers, all paint a vivid picture of a highland commune on the rise.

ĐBP - As late autumn arrives, the vast Mường Thanh rice field glows golden under the sun. Each rice stalk, heavy with ripened grain, bends low in anticipation of harvest. This is the busiest time of year for local farmers as the summer-autumn crop reaches its peak.

ĐBP - In accordance with Plan No.515/KH-BCA-BTN&MT, Điện Biên is actively implementing a 90-day campaign to enrich and cleanse the national land database. This is a crucial mission aimed at developing a land information system that is accurate, complete, clean, and active, thereby improving state management efficiency and laying a solid foundation for digital transformation in the land sector.

ĐBP - From September to December each year, farmers in Quài Tở Commune begin the coffee harvest season,  a time that symbolizes the fruits of their year-long hard work. The hillsides covered in ripening red coffee cherries have become a vivid emblem of prosperity for this highland community.

ĐBP - From the center of Pú Nhung commune, following the winding concrete road lined with green hills, we arrived at Phiêng Pi village, a small settlement nestled at the foot of the mountain, surrounded by lush rice fields, maize plots, and hills covered with coffee and macadamia trees. Phiêng Pi today has truly “turned a new leaf.” Rows of new houses with bright red roofs now stand close together; electricity, roads, schools, and clinics are well-built; and the contented, cheerful faces of villagers reflect a prosperous, fulfilled life.

ĐBP - Digital transformation has become an inevitable trend and a key solution to boosting the efficiency of the electricity sector. In line with this shift, Điện Biên Power Company has been rolling out advanced technologies that are bringing breakthrough changes to management, operations, and customer services, optimizing internal processes while delivering tangible benefits to local consumers.

ĐBP - In recent years, science and technology activities in the province have achieved encouraging results. Numerous research projects and applied models have been successfully implemented, bringing practical benefits to production and improving people’s lives.

ĐBP - Project 2, “Diversifying livelihoods and developing poverty reduction models”, is one of seven projects under the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the 2021-2025 period. It is considered an important solution to effectively harness local strengths, encourage self-reliance, and create opportunities for the poor to rise out of poverty.

ĐBP - In the context of limited public investment resources, the management and use of advance capital for projects has been given special attention by Điện Biên province. During the 2021-2025 period, alongside accelerating disbursement progress, the province has focused on reviewing and recovering advances in public investment, thereby reducing losses and waste while improving the efficiency of budget use.

ĐBP -  In line with Vietnam’s pledge at COP26 to achieve net zero emissions by 2050, Điện Biên province has been rolling out a wide range of measures, from expanding renewable energy and green transport to promoting circular economy practices and sustainable agriculture. These efforts not only demonstrate the province’s commitment to global climate goals but also pave the way for sustainable development that balances economic growth with environmental protection.

ĐBP - More and more farmers in Điện Biên are shifting their mindset and renewing cultivation methods to produce clean, safe agricultural products. Compared to 2024, the certified VietGAP farming area in the province has increased by 15.5 hectares; certified organic farming has expanded by 5.25 hectares; and the total certified safe farming area has grown by 17.75 hectares.

ĐBP - In these days leading up to the Mid-Autumn Festival, the local market has become vibrant. If in the past imported products dominated Mid-Autumn toys, this year consumer trends have shifted toward traditional items that embody Vietnamese cultural values.

ĐBP - At Suối Lư 2 hamlet in Na Son commune, Lò Văn Săn and his wife went to the Na Son commune Public Administration Service Center to register their marriage. After being guided by local officials, the couple learned the procedure and how to complete it quickly through the VNeID application.

ĐBP - In recent years, Điện Biên province has been implementing a range of green solutions in agriculture: improving cultivation layers for perennial crops; applying science and technology in the production of clean agricultural products; and developing smart rice-farming models to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. These approaches not only help increase crop yields and improve product quality but also open the door to building an environmentally friendly agriculture. Green farming brings double benefits - both to producers and to the community.

ĐBP - In the 2021 - 2025 period, Điện Biên expects public investment to become a “lever” for infrastructure development, socio-economic growth, and improving people’s lives.

ĐBP - Điện Biên province, the westernmost province of the country, is characterized by rugged terrain, difficult transportation, and a population whose life still faces many hardships and shortages. Yet, overcoming these challenges, local Party committees, authorities, businesses, and residents are working hand in hand to gradually reshape the border region.

ĐBP - In an effort to enhance the quality, value, and sustainability of OCOP products, Điện Biên province has launched a program to replace plastic bottles with ceramic, glass, or environmentally friendly packaging. This change not only reduces plastic waste but also creates a more appealing image, boosting the competitiveness of local products in the market. At the same time, the program encourages producers to improve production processes, build stronger brands, promote green consumption, and align OCOP products with the goals of a circular economy.
