Beyond promoting goods, through these events, producers gain expanded opportunities to seek partners, broaden markets, and steadily elevate brand value.
Serving as a highlight in local trade promotion activities, the 2026 Điện Biên Province Trade Promotion and OCOP Product Fair converged more than 200 booths representing over 150 enterprises, cooperatives, OCOP entities, and trade promotion organizations from inside and outside the province. The exhibition booths displayed diverse OCOP goods, processed agricultural items, specialty foods, and high-quality consumer commodities.
At the fair, numerous representative products of Điện Biên, such as Mường Thanh rice, Mường Ảng coffee, Shan tuyết tea, macadamia nuts, wild forest honey, and traditional handicrafts, were showcased to consumers and commercial distributors. Through these exchanges, producers directly introduced their products, gathered customer feedback, explored market demands, and established connections with potential partners. On the sidelines of the fair, integrated programs assisted businesses in accessing digital transformation, cashless payments, and financial solutions supporting production and trade. These practical contents help OCOP entities enhance their competitiveness and adapt progressively to escalating market standards.
Notably, an authentic versus counterfeit goods identification zone arranged by market management forces drew considerable consumer interest. This activity elevated awareness regarding safe consumption, safeguarded consumer rights, and contributed to fostering a sound business environment. Consequently, enterprises and cooperatives gained favorable conditions to solidify brands, expand distribution networks, and channel OCOP items deeper into modern retail conduits.
Recently, 15 booths representing communes and wards across the province were exhibited and showcased at the 2026 Contest on Communication, Presentation, and Promotion of Agricultural Products and Safe Food, under the theme “Safe Agriculture - Elevating Value, Heading toward a Sustainable Future.” The booths introduced distinctive local agricultural and handicraft products, focusing on OCOP items, certified specialty goods with verified origins, and traditional folk products tied to the cultural identity of each locality.
Lò Thị Sương, owner of a dried buffalo meat establishment in Thanh Nưa commune, noted that through participating in fairs and provincial events, almost all of her facility’s products found buyers, and business connections were established across domestic markets both within and outside the province. This reality demonstrates the tangible efficiency of presenting goods directly to consumers and commercial partners via trade promotion events.
To enable local agricultural goods and specialties to reach farther, the province has deployed synchronized solutions assisting cooperatives, production units, and business households in elevating product quality while establishing distribution connections. The Department of Industry and Trade has actively carried out industrial promotion, trade promotion, and e-commerce initiatives, providing support for modern production machinery, trademark registration, and packaging redesigns. Concurrently, it updates market intelligence and product quality standards for organizations and individuals to align production and sales with practical requirements. The department coordinated reviews and provided documentation to organize a Supply-Demand Matching Program connecting provincial enterprises, cooperatives, and production households with Central Retail Việt Nam - a prominent retail conglomerate in Việt Nam operating the GO!, Tops Market, and mini go! supermarket chains. Furthermore, the Provincial Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion Center organized numerous demand-stimulating events, presenting provincial produce and specialties at trade gatherings. Communes and wards have stepped up dissemination among food processing units regarding origin verification, food safety quality, labeling, and packaging, while guiding and assisting establishments in registering trademark certifications and transferring scientific and technological advancements in high-tech and organic agriculture.
Through diversified promotional endeavors, trade fairs and exhibitions are serving as dynamic meeting grounds bringing Điện Biên agricultural produce and specialties closer to consumers and distributors. This momentum encourages producers to enhance quality, refine packaging, build brand identity, fulfill market demands, and broaden consumer markets while augmenting local product value.
