The Executive Committee of the Điện Biên Provincial Lawyers' Association convenes its 12th extended meeting

ĐBP – The Điện Biên Provincial Lawyers' Association held its 12th extended meeting of the Executive Committee of the 2018–2024 tenure on Monday.

At the meeting, the association presented a report on its significant results during the 2018–2024 tenure. Guided by a spirit of solidarity and responsibility, the association managed to improve the quality and efficiency of its, with a strong focus on organisational development. Over the tenure, the association admitted 184 new members, raising the total membership across the province to 484.

The Lawyers' Association and its affiliated chapters provided feedback on 3,615 draft legal documents as requested by the Việt Nam Lawyers' Association, the Provincial National Assembly delegation, the Provincial People’s Council, the People’s Committee, and other departments.

Additionally, the association conducted 1,149 legal education and dissemination sessions, attracting 75,620 participants.

Under the project on socialisation of legal education and legal aid in the period of 2017–2021, the association implemented legal dissemination and education programmes in seven out of ten districts, towns, and cities.

The association effectively delivered legal counselling, legal aid, complaint resolution, and grassroots mediation services. It provided legal advice for 2,572 cases involving administrative matters, policies, land disputes, and family law; provided legal aid for 7,461 cases; and resolved 2,092 complaints, denunciations, and petitions from citizens.

The association’s activities were closely aligned with the province's political tasks, affirming its crucial role in lawmaking and law enforcement.

For its accomplishments, the Điện Biên Provincial Lawyers' Association received a certificate of merit from the Prime Minister, as well as an outstanding emulation flag from the Provincial People’s Committee and the Việt Nam Lawyers' Association.

The meeting also reviewed and discussed draft documents to be presented at the 4th Provincial Lawyers' Congress of the 2024–2029 tenure. Participants voted on personnel recommendations for the new Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, and the positions of President, Vice Presidents, and the Inspection Committee for the upcoming term.
