Diversifying job connection forms

ĐBP - In the context of a volatile labor market, diversifying forms of connecting labor supply and demand has become the key to solving the local employment problem. In Điện Biên province, 2025 marks a strong transformation in this work, as functional agencies proactively and flexibly deploy many new models, adapting to trends and practical needs.

Nguyễn Tiến Đạt, Director of the Department of Home Affairs, said: “Điện Biên is a province with abundant labor resources and potential for development in diverse fields, from services and commerce to processing industries and labor export. However, geographical barriers and a lack of information are major ‘bottlenecks’. To remove this difficulty, the province has deployed multi-channel connections, creating the most favorable conditions for workers to access jobs and for businesses to recruit personnel.”

The application of digital technology is considered a breakthrough solution, helping to overcome geographical barriers, especially for workers in remote and isolated areas. In 2025, the Employment Service Center under the Department of Home Affairs deployed 6 online job transaction sessions, each attracting nearly 100 students and workers to participate, with the presence of many businesses inside and outside the province. Through the online platform, workers can directly exchange with employers about working conditions, salary levels, remuneration regimes, and necessary skills; they are supported to submit applications and complete interview rounds without being limited by geographical distance. For workers in remote and isolated areas, this is a practical solution that saves time and costs while expanding opportunities to access the labor market outside the province and labor export.

Phạm Văn Thuận, Deputy Director of the provincial Employment Service Center, said: “The Center focuses on diversifying businesses and recruitment information, but it must suit the capacity and needs of local workers. After online transaction sessions, many workers have proactively contacted businesses directly to exchange further information to continue participating in pre-qualification and recruitment rounds or start working immediately.”

Parallel to the digital environment, job fairs remain an important connection channel, creating a direct and transparent meeting space between workers and businesses. From late August to December 2025, the whole province organized 9 job fairs in many areas and 1 provincial-level job fair, attracting nearly 140 turns of businesses inside and outside the province to participate, providing nearly 30,000 recruitment information items, with about 5,000 attendees. Businesses operate in many fields such as: Garments, electronics, construction materials, services, and labor export. The fair also attracted a large number of students to visit and learn about the labor market, thereby contributing to early career orientation and helping youth understand more about labor market requirements and trends. For example, Tinh Loi Garment Co., Ltd. (Hải Phòng city) has participated in many job fairs in Điện Biên province to recruit workers for the garment industry. Currently, the unit is employing about 1,500 local workers.

Participating in the job fair organized at Điện Biên Phủ ward, Sùng Thị Hoa, a final-year intermediate student majoring in Supermarket Sales at Điện Biên College, shared: “About to graduate, I am very interested in job counseling and introduction activities like job fairs. Visiting and learning about the booths of companies, I understand more about recruitment requirements for each position and profession, as well as remuneration regimes, salary, and bonuses... From there, I can cultivate necessary knowledge and skills and determine which businesses to submit my application to.”

In 2025, mobile job counseling and introduction activities, bringing labor market information to the grassroots level, were also promoted by functional agencies. Instead of waiting for workers to come, the provincial Employment Service Center assigned teams to every commune and village to provide information to workers. During the year, the Center organized 101 mobile job conferences at 37 communes and wards; about 6,000 people were provided with full information on recruitment needs, working conditions, income, and support policies; at the same time, they received direct counseling, pre-qualification, and guidance on completing applications... Job counseling and introduction work on digital platforms such as: The electronic information portal, social networks, Zalo groups, Tiktok... was promoted. This is a method suitable for the information access trends of young workers, helping recruitment information to be updated regularly, spread quickly, and create a 2-way interaction channel between workers and functional agencies.

With those efforts, in 2025, Điện Biên province created new jobs for over 9,000 workers, of which 198 workers went to work abroad under contracts. The continued diversification and improvement of the quality of job introduction and connection activities are expected to contribute to solving sustainable employment, raising income, and improving lives for Điện Biên people in the coming years.
