In the fields, at construction sites, and within cooperatives, the urgent and excited atmosphere of the first days of the year marked the beginning of a year filled with high expectations and determination to complete socio-economic development goals.
Immediately after the Tết holiday, the labor spirit of residents in the province’s key rice-growing areas, such as Thanh Nưa, Thanh Yên, Thanh An, and Sam Mứn, became urgent and bustling. While the echoes of Tết still lingered in the villages, farmers gathered in the fields early to focus on caring for the Winter-Spring rice crop.
In Thanh Nưa commune, where over 1,114 hectares of rice were sown, the crop structure was arranged to suit local soil and water conditions. By this time, the early rice tea was entering the tillering stage, while the main crop was in the thinning and transplanting phase, with relatively uniform growth. After the holiday, farmers focused on weeding, top-dressing with fertilizer, and proactively monitoring for pests.
Thùng Thị Hải, a resident of Co Mỵ village, Thanh Nưa commune, shared: “Rice plants need to be cared for at the right time; any delay will affect the yield. Therefore, we regularly monitored the fields and closely tracked pest situations, weather, and soil moisture to apply appropriate prevention measures and minimize potential damage.”
Before, during, and after Tết, the streets of Điện Biên Phủ ward were cleaned to ensure urban aesthetics and a fresh environment for residents. Right after the holiday, workers from the Điện Biên Environment Joint Stock Company started their tasks of pruning trees, collecting and transporting waste, and increasing the cleaning frequency in residential areas, markets, and public spaces.
Đinh Thu Thảo, Deputy Director of the company, noted that the unit mobilized maximum manpower and equipment for a general cleaning campaign to ensure the streets quickly returned to a clean and airy state. Phan Thị Tuyết, the leader of the Greenery Team, added that 100% of the team’s workers had returned to work, performing their duties with technical precision to maintain a green, clean, and safe urban image.
The Si Pa Phìn High-Tech Agricultural Cooperative, which managed over 30 hectares of crops and livestock, supplied 2 tons of vegetables and 1 ton of meat to schools daily. Following the Lunar New Year, the cooperative quickly stabilized its production, reviewed orders, and checked machinery to ensure the production lines operated continuously.
From February 21 (the 5th day of the Lunar New Year), more than 40 workers returned to work, harvesting vegetables, cleaning barns, and preparing the first orders of the year. Hà Văn Tài, the Director of the cooperative, emphasized that maintaining continuous production demonstrated the unit’s professional spirit and ensured stable income for its members.
Vi Thị Nga, a worker at the cooperative, expressed that everyone was aware of their responsibility because the products served students’ meals and had to be safe and fresh. The stable jobs and professional environment provided a sense of security for the laborers as they began the new year.
The bustling labor atmosphere of the early spring reflected the proactive determination of both citizens and businesses in implementing 2026 economic tasks. With this competitive spirit and the synchronized efforts of all levels and sectors, the first months of the year set a favorable momentum for completing the established targets.
