One of the important solutions that the province focuses on to ensure social welfare and sustainable poverty reduction is focusing on job resolution and vocational training for workers. Every year, the province creates conditions for units and businesses inside and outside the province to come and select local labor for work. The province also sends workers to work abroad under contracts and promotes consulting and job introduction activities for workers.
Lê Đình Tuyên, who serves as the Vice Director of the Department of Home Affairs, shared that with the efforts of all levels, branches, and local governments, the whole province created new jobs for over 9,400 workers in 2025, which reached more than 102% of the plan. Specifically, 2,650 laborers were supported through job resolution loans, while 4,344 people were supplied to businesses inside and outside the province. Over 2,200 people were recruited into party and mass organizations or through other socio-economic development programs. Simultaneously, the province sent nearly 200 workers to work abroad for a definite term under contracts. Performing job resolution well helps workers have a stable source of income to improve their lives. This also increases the rate of people participating in social insurance and unemployment insurance, which contributes to expanding social welfare coverage and stabilizing the labor market.
Over the past time, poverty reduction policies and production development support projects have continued to be effective, especially the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction and Socio-economic Development for ethnic minority and mountainous areas. Through support for production development, livelihoods, and policies regarding education, health, electricity, and preferential credit, poor households have been helped to increase their income and improve their lives, especially in remote, distant, and ethnic minority areas. Thanks to these efforts, the poverty rate of the province has gradually decreased over the years. By the end of 2025, the rate remained at approximately 17.66%, representing a decrease of 3.63% compared to 2024.
Preferential regimes and policies for people with meritorious services have been fully implemented. Activities to care for and give gifts to poor households, difficult households, people with disabilities, the elderly without support, orphans, and households affected by natural disasters are carried out regularly. Currently, the whole province has more than 1,000 people with meritorious services to the revolution who are paid monthly allowances with a total amount of over VND 3.5 billion.
With the involvement of the entire political system and the people, the province has completed the housing support project for people with meritorious services and the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area. As a result, 7,365 houses were newly built or repaired, which reached 100% of the plan, with a total cost of over VND 402 billion. This reflects the gratitude toward people with meritorious services and helps poor households have new homes to feel secure in stabilizing their lives and striving to escape poverty.
Nguyễn Tiến Dũng, the Vice Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, stated that to join hands in ensuring social welfare, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels has actively mobilized resources to implement support for poor households and people in difficult circumstances. From the mobilized funds, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels and its member organizations have allocated and supported more than 43,300 gift portions for policy families, prestigious people, poor households, and workers in difficult circumstances with an implementation cost of over VND 24 billion. They have also coordinated to provide rice relief, gift clothes, conduct medical examinations, and distribute free medicine to poor households.
Additionally, the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee continues to effectively perform the support of building “Great Solidarity” houses for poor households. The number of houses newly built and repaired in 2025 was 1,135 houses. The committee also supported livelihood development for 27 poor households. Given the heavy impact of natural disasters and floods in the area, the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee promptly called for and mobilized the support of units, businesses, organizations, and individuals to assist people in flood areas. They coordinated with charitable units to directly present goods and essential necessities to help people overcome natural disasters.
Under conditions of many difficulties, the results achieved in social welfare work have contributed to improving the lives of the people and step-by-step realizing the goal of sustainable poverty reduction in the area. These results confirm the effort and determination of the province in caring for the lives of the people, maintaining political stability and security, and creating motivation to promote socio-economic development.
